Folks, as much as I want to be happy for Jessica Simpson's recent engagement announcement, I have to ask if she is getting married for the right reasons.

1.) She was dating her fiancee for 5.5 months before they got engaged.

2.) The guy she is marrying doesn't have a job currently.

3.) Jessica's ex husband (Nick Lahey) just got engaged last week, so is this considerably a headline grab?

4.) Jessica's new CD is released right around the same time as her engagement news.

I don't know. Something seems fishy about all of this, especially since inside sources revealed that Jessica Simpson was reportedly upset about Nick's recent engagement and that she is in some sort of crazy race to get married again before Nick does.

Your thoughts on all of this, with regard to Jessica's sign as a Cancer, and Nick's sign as a Scorpio?

Great feedback, everybody!

I agree that Jessica Simpson is trying to find some emotional warmth like what she had with Nick, however, I don't think she will find it with her new Virgo fiancee.

After previous discussion with Tree Frogger today, I want to say that Water signs cannot have the same emotional connection to an earth sign as they would with other water signs. This is even more true if the Water sign has had a previous, long-term relationship with another water sign.

Shellshocker is right on about Jessica trying to find a deep emotional connection like the one she had with Nick. I am very seriously inclined to believe that Jessica is by NO MEANS over Nick, as has been relayed by Jessica's friends. They indicated that she was flipping out when she found out that Nick was going to marry another woman.

I find it very true ! Anybody with similar experience? I mean if you were in a long term relationship with another water sign you will be longing for it all your life. True/False ?

True indeed
Not only talking about boyfriends but my friends who are water signs we have this special bond...

My previous Aqua and Gemini boyfriends could never understand my emotions as I know the crabs (my first love back in my teenage years, and my present Crab boy) can..
the only problem is that sometimes it gets too intense

Water +Water: drowning-..it is a possibility sometimes

Thank God my Crab has a lot of earth..taurus rising and capricorn

I actually really like Jessica Simpson. I have "The Newlyweds" dvd box sets (that's right...all seasons) and despite the negative things people say about her, I find her to have a pure, kind, and generous heart. She may be a litte naieve but naievete does not equate to being stupid. I think she's actually quite clever, endearing and has some good business sense. I also respect her because while she may have made some bad decisions in her dating life, she is a far cry from the likes of some of her peers (i.e. Britney, Paris etc).

As for Nick, I knew that when she left him she made a really bad decision as I don't think she will ever find another guy who will love her the way that he did. While I do believe that the Cancer/Scorp pairing is one of the best in the zodiac, I think their bond was hella strong also due to the fact that they were basically on an even keel in almost every other aspect of their lives (career, education level, physicality etc) and when she filed for divorce, I knew instantly that it would be very, very hard for her to find another man to match him. Nick was Jessica's perfect match and it's sad that on top of being a young Cancer who married very early, her father's constant interference in her marriage helped to bring it to a close. I think Jessica needed more experiences with men before marrying Nick and I think that her father's greed for money and fame and his insinuations that she could "do better" confused her even more and in the midst of it all, she jumped ship. I think Nick was her anchor and it doesn't surprise me that she's been "all over the place" so to speak, since the divorce.

This might sound weird but, I've been rooting for them to get back together ever since. Yes, I believe it can happen. I don't believe for one minute that Nick loves Vanessa (another Scorp) nearly as much as he loved (and still loves) Jess, and well, it's clear that Jessica is not in love with these guys to any near degree as she was with Nick no matter how much she claims to be. However, if this is or has been the case, they surely didn't love her the way that Nick did. I think that Jessica definitely realizes now what she had and it's too late. Then again, it's her life and she can do as she pleases and maybe she had to have this experience to realize that the grass is not always greener on the other side. I guess we can only see what will happen in the near future as I believe that they can give it another go. I think that they are a template for 'true love' and it was kind of nice to watch them on screen together. Their bond was so deep and organic.

I agree with you on all of this, Virgo!

Like Tree Frogger, Crabbycusp and my Pisces sister said, it's really a shame that it's come to this level.

Honestly, it is fair to say that Jessica Simpson is doing well financially, but very poorly in a mental-emotional state of mind.

It is fair to say that she lost something that was wonderful when her relationship with Nick went sour, and she has not found what she had.

When she was dating Billy Corgan, I actually had higher hopes for it to work out since he is a fellow Pisces, but obviously it didn't work out. Maybe Billy has an emotional hangover as well from his bad experiences with love?

:o(

Anyway, you are all correct in that it's difficult if not impossible to recapture the flame between water-water when a new relationship begins with an earth sign.

One of the interesting things I have noticed in the articles about Jessica's engagement is that she not only denies flipping out about Nick's engagement, but she also is alienating some of her friends with her brash decision to get engaged so suddenly. There are stories about her friends not liking or trusting her new fiancee, which never bodes well for a marriage. Also throw in the fact that she may have even purchased her own engagement ring!!! :O

I hope that last statement is not true, because it just goes to show us all that this may be some sort of f

Yeah, Jessica does seem to be a bit unstable since her divorce. I do hope that she gets it together for the sake of her own mental health or that money and fame will mean nothing in the end. Billy Corgan...ah, forgot about him. Oh please. I knew that shit wasn't gonna last. He was just as unstable as her. Nick may not have all of the money and fame in the world but he is very grounded and he kept her grounded as well but she didn't seem to really want that after a while. Nooooo, she wanted to buy $ 1400 sheets and splurge on tons of shoes and clothes instead of putting the money towards the mortgage.

Indeed, Virgo.

She is mentally unstable because she realizes that she ruined a perfectly great relationship with Nick, and has been totally off-mark ever since.

I don't want to depress anyone here, but Ernest Hemingway was in love with this nurse during WWI, but she married some other dude instead. He then went on to marry and divorce 3 other women throughout his life before committing suicide.

Yeah, with regard to Billy Corgan, I really think he has some sadness and depression issues to contend with as well relating to his past problems with love. He is very mature, but I sense that he is very sad inside over his painful emotional turmoil with women he most likely loved.

ernest hemingway is probably the author i like the most. a farewell to arms is supposedly about him falling in love with a nurse... such a beautiful and sad story. such a crab!

ah, billy corgan. he seems to always have his guard up and i've always wondered how he's like when he's relax... funny? hilarious? comical?

i think the biggest culprit of the demise of nick and jessica was the control her father had on her. it had gotten so big that in the end, it seemed that her father was the man in her life and not her husband. nick really loved her and she did too, but because of the delayed reaction, she didn't realize it ... until it was too late.

you can love many, but true love is only reserved for one.
