To bring a gift, or not to bring a gift—

Hi, so this is the 2nd time I'll be visiting my Cancer guy. He offered me to stay at his house again since I'll be in Canada. Last time I brought a bottle of wine..is it appropriate to bring a gift again? I don't know if it would look like I was trying too hard by bringing another gift or rude if I didn't. I was thinking of bringing him a small venus fly trap, he works at a greenhouse and loves plants and animals.. I don't know, would that be weird/desperate??

I agree. I think a gift is a good idea, and I like the plant idea. Go with your instincts. F looking weird/desperate. It's a nice gesture, and whatever jerk wants to read too much into it... clearly will be too critical in the end anyways, there will be no pleasing that person!
