Capricorn and Aquarius compatibility? Can someone shed light?

Recently I've been pursued by an Aquarius and I've been doing some reading on them. While I'm not surprised that Aquarians can stake friendships with signs of different elements (especially if other's natal chart contains air/fire elements), I was astonished to find out that the literally, "hit-it-out-of-the-ballpark" with Capricorns! Earth and air; so interesting. While I can understand the short term romantic attraction and, the long-term friendship potential (coupled with the concept that Aquarians really just want a good "best friend" in a partner) how, on earth, does this pair accomplish long term? Capricorns and Aquarius both are tremendously stubborn. Capricorns need to be in control, *need structure. Aquarius are the exact opposite.

This pairing is often more successful than not. I've seen Aqua with Cap more than any other signs.

Yeah, not surprised. My mom's an Aqua and one of my better friends since college is an Aqua. We're both connected to Saturn (us more so obv) but I think there's a connection that doesn't need to be addressed.

Out of all the air signs, I believe Cap connects with Aquarius the most. There seems to be a real level of world weariness (we both come in the ass end of winter and the tail end of the zodiac cycle) Libra and Gemini can lack as well as drive, and I believe, at least with the Aquas I've known closely, they follow through with their actions more. I believe it's a good relationship too because Aquarius is fine with Cap taking the lead a lot, but Aqua can show us a different route or a broader, humanistic perspective.

I kind of feel like the Cap-Aqua relationship is sort of like the Riggs-Murtaugh buddy cop one in the Lethal Weapon series. Different but same at some core levels and they accentuate each other.
