I have an aversion to pain, so no tats for me. My Cap daughter has stars up the side of her torso. She has talked about getting a fairy on her back (her whole back), which I personally don't think is a good idea - that will look horrible and so out of place when she's older! She hasn't mentioned it in a while, maybe she has listened to me and is thinking to the future.
I love tattoos too...I think they are sexy. Especially when they have this hidden meaning to them.
I wana get one, but my parents would go insane!! Lol I have a mother that notices everything, and she never let's things go. I wana get one, actually I don't. Its great admiring them on someone, and that's all I need.lol but I'm not interested in making a permanent mark on my body. Especially since I'm always changing my mind, always growing out of things and falling into like with alotta things. So I know that I will regret it sometime in the future, whatever tattoo I get.
My Cap has a tattoo on his upper ;eft arm of Skulls going all the way around.. On his hand he has his daughters name and a cross next to it for his mom that died, On his back he has his First and Last name "Jesse James" and in the middle 417 which is the area code where he was born here in springfield mo.. and under that he has a picture of a chevy camaro
My Cap would never. I think those might have been his exact words when I inquired as to why he didn't have one. He is on the uber conservative side though. No piercings either.
I have one very simple tat on my back between my shoulder blades of an 8 point star done in sort of glowing brown/tan colors so it looks kind of archaic.
To me, it holds a lot of symbolism in its simplicity. It's meaning comes from the traditional sign of the navigational 8 point star, as on a compass or an old world map. It represents having a sense of purpose and direction in life, yet balancing it with a sense of adventure, spontaneity and lust for discovery. Also, I've always had a love for stars. Not just astrologically, but I used to want to be an astronomer. One of my favorite quotes is from Carl Sagan who is entirely quotable. The guy is brilliant and poetic...
—The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.??
What a nice truth.
I really have no plans to get another. But I'm not against it either. I think if I were to do it again, it would be a really nice piece of art and big, on my side and back. And not anything cryptic and hard to figure out, but just a really well executed picture.
