Why is this bothering me? Should it bother me?

Okay, growing up my dad had one and it wasn't a big deal because it was registered. My mom had one too but I think she said my dad got it for her, I don't remember.

Tonight my roommate revealed that he had a gun. Like, I a real gun. An honest-to-goodness gun ...

I think it was an accident that he told me, he's been drinking -- actually, he's been drinking alot lately.

He says its for protection and I believe it, but still its like WOW ... I'm living with someone who actually has a loaded pistol, that he feels he needs to use for protection ...

It was different with my parents you see -- I can't explain it, but it was a different feeling. With the roomie, I feel weird, especially since I know the 'real' him now. Plus, when he drinks, he tends to act really stupid.

So I don't know, should I be thinking about this or should I just mind my business?

oh come on CS...

ok let us explain it mathematically... let shoes = guns
now think wht happens when u have a lot of shoes... u are filled with joy and u feel like u have achieved nirvana

so replace shoes with guns and u with him...problem solved :p

Hey you, how are you? ^_^.

Okay, you are going to think I'm a complete idiot but I don't get it ..:/ I mean, I don't get the problem solved part, is that a good thing that I replace me with him in the shoes that I have?

I'm tired ... forgive me

Guns and booze don't mix! My ex had a gun and drank frequently. Scary shit! Some kid cut through the neighbor's yard one night and he frantically tried to find the key to the gun case God only knows what he would have done had he found it. But, he was on a tangent one night and we were arguing so I took off for a bit... when I returned he was in the process of cutting the lock off of the case. Fortunately, I don't think he could find the bullets. Ah, such good memories...

may i point out.... he is showing off...

after you confiding in him abt virgos and all.. he must be super interested.. with people who have a lot of partners (read players.. like ur roomie).. NOTHING is more exciting than a woman who can live with them and is not interested...

You think thats what he's doing? Showing off? If thats the case than he's a freaking wennie. Why would that impress me—

If anything it makes me wish that I really looked long and hard at the person I was moving in with 😢 😢

... okay, well that would explain a few things then. Especially since he knows that I'm upset with the Leo-Virgo guy *long story* He's been move talkative lately and not as mean as he was before. The only issue is the fact that he drinks a hell of alot -- even in the morning :/

See, I've never been with a guy who either owned or carried a gun ... EVER!!!! Now that I live with a "friend" who has one, I'm like, okay, why—

I'm not a gun fan really, I mean, I understand the need to protect yourself but its all just very mafia to me.

No wonder he said that if the Leo-Virgo tried anything that he would not worry. OMG, what if those two would have gotten into a fight ...

I thought he would have more integrity than that -- you know, to use his fists or whatever.

For someone who likes to cause so much trouble and raise so much hell just because he 'can', you would think he would be better off using his fists.

Good grief

That was smart lol! Very smart.

My mom got rid of hers, although my father didn't want her too. I don't blame her really. Theres so many other ways to defend yourself other than using a freaking gun. They are deadly, very deadly indeed. If I had my way, I'd get rid of them all, by I don't have that type of power.

I thought those who carry guns are cowards 😢 My roomie is a coward, he causes all sorts of trouble with people, but he has the nerve to carry a gun.

Guns are not bad.

Guns are good—

In the UK even those who go to gun clubs are treated with suspicion. Of course in america the law & culture are different and of course more people die of gunshot wounds.

Guns are neither good nor bad, they are simply tools.
I could stab you to death with a pencil if I wanted to badly enough.the reason why there are more gun shot deaths in America is because there are more guns,it's just math really 🙂
and yes,you Europeans are more open sexually,we are more open to protecting ourselves.....but not to worry, soon everyone everywhere who owns a gun will be treated with suspicion 😢

I wouldn't worry too much about it. But you are right, America has alot of guns ...

I have no issues with people who own guns for utilitarian purposes, but I agree that owning a gun to protect oneself is cowardly, it reflects a great deal of insecurity.

lildol, I love your avatar, are you a capricorn girl? I am too ^_^.

Yeah, if its for utilitarian purposes ... yeah sure but to protect yourself, I don't like that. Its enough these nutty criminals have guns.

I don't know, I'm just so put out by all of this.

I'm a girl and I like guns.
Aries and I have ALOT of guns in the house. We have a loaded pistol by the bed. *shrugs*
I was raised around guns. Took alot of safety courses and I know how to properly handle a gun.

"Besides if they were banned that would mean they would be taken off stupid people who might go around shooting everyone on a bad day. "

Nah... just like drugs they'd just go underground and people would sell them illegally and then it would just be the criminals with the guns and not law abiding citizens that have the proper permits and classes that educate a person to use them. It's all about personal responsibility. If you shoot someone you are going to jail. My firearms shouldn't be taken away because someone is a nutcase and decides to blow someone away. I'm a responsible gun owner who deserves the right to own a gun as I wish because I take the proper actions and follow the law as I should. 🙂

Did he ask you if it would be alright for him to have that gun in the house? Aren't you guys sharing a place? If you are sharing, then it should have been agreed upon before he ever brought it into the house, and if you don't like him having it there, then you have the right to ask him to please keep it somewhere else. If that doesn't work, try bringing something really tacky or ugly into the house, something that he hates, and then use it as a bargaining chip.
Also, since you guys don't get along, it may be a cue to find a different roommate.

Yes, I agree with you LT ... he really should have talk to me about it first ...

I mean, theres stuff I talk to him about before I do it, you know?

Plus, I'm simply NOT a fan of guns at all. He claims that its for his protection but that such a load of bs. Others need to be protected from him for Pete's sakes.

I don't know, but what I do know is that someone like him really should not have a gun.

Keep your guns and be proud of it ! The government in america and most governments want a disarmed , obidient slavelike citizens . I say to hell with that .

that sounds like a very good idea. Maybe americans would not be so paranoid about safety if they didnt have such a gun culture. Besides if they were banned that would mean they would be taken off stupid people who might go around shooting everyone on a bad day.

cappy you don't understand the intent of our government and most people would not believe me if i told them . The damage they want to inflict on us would far surpass any violence that citizens can do to each other .

Kris ... you know I just love you 😉

But I agree with cappygolightly, basically on everything she said.

And I'm sorry but just because just because we won't have guns to shot things with doesn't mean we are obident and slavelike citizens hahaha. Thats alittle extreme, calm down, go get some wine and then get back with me 🙂

heh sweetie 🙂 I was just about to answer your other post lol. To tell the truth I'm not trying to be too political and guns are not something I have ever really discussed before. I do feel strongly about the death penalty, but I'd never realy thought much about the gun ownership subject until this thread. I'm a pacifist I guess.

I don't come on here very often, but seriously you should get out of this apartment you;re in. This guy sounds nothing but trouble. Can't you move out as soon as possible? This guy is such a creep and the sooner you say sayonara the better.

Oh no cappyglightly, you're not getting politically. You are just explaining yourself. Others have made comments on what you have wrote and you were just replying.

Like I said, if you read my hidden message you would see that I get it ^_^. But I thought better about it, I knew it would cause trouble and I don't like trouble on the cappy board 🙂

I think youre probably right about the politics. Im probably more liberal politically (another thing to get shot down for in the states lol).

hahahahaha, OMG! OMG! OMG! I know!!! Isn't it terrible :O and I'm American saying this. But when I agree with someone, I agree, I don't give a damn where they are from.

lol, you remember how open and out-spoken I was last year, don't you? Man oh man, if some of these users could have took a whip to my backside, they would have. I totally wasn't popular among the more "uneducated" crowd ... or so they said ^_^. But I soldiered on lol.

I like feeling this way though, you know? Its way too much anger on the other side.

I am ok today, thanks for asking...and Im hoping that I am over the worst of the stress this year or at least that my ability to deal with it has improved. Im having fun with the leo men in my life lol.

How are you bearing up on the man/job front? As I am sleeping more sensible hours, whenever I come on here there is nobody online. 😢

YOU HAVE A LEO MAN 😄!!!!!!

DAMN YOU GIRL! I WANT ONE 🙂

hehehehe, this is too funny. I remember what your really, really, really old username use to be ^_^.

Man front .... well, lets not talk about that, it makes me sad that I kept knocking against the leo-virgo guy where it turns out, the son-of-a-bitch was right. He was totally right and I (ME!) I blow it because I didn't want to see it.

Its not that I didn't see the signs, but I had just moved there, it would have taken too much money and too much time away from other pressing things to move again. I had alot of stuff I moved in, some of it I had to throw away because it couldn't all fit there.

So yeah ...

As far as the job thing, I might get a job as a 'shot girl' hahaha, funny the is because of how this thread turned out xD!

Why is this bothering me? Should it bother me?

Okay, growing up my dad had one and it wasn't a big deal because it was registered. My mom had one too but I think she said my dad got it for her, I don't remember.

I think it was an accident that he told me, he's been drinking -- actually, he's been drinking alot lately.

Yeah it would bother me, I wish I could say it wouldn't or shouldn't but it would bother the hell out of me, for me that's a deal breaker and I would be looking to move out, bottom line it's me or the gun one has got to go. I went to a gun shooting range once and never returned, I almost lost my damn mind from all the noise, I so did not expect to be that shaken up over it, it felt empowering yet surreal and scary. I just don't care for guns at all.

Yes this is what happens in the UK and it's usually criminals involved in drugs and gangs that have guns. These people usually go around using guns on each other and innocent people rarely get shot unless they are very unlucky. It's partly hollywood's glamourisation of the gun culture that makes it attractive to kids involved in gangs in the UK. That and some of the violent computer games around. I'm sure there is a cost to the american health service as a result of misuse of guns. I guess the culture in the US originates in the old wild west where everyone had to own a gun because of the environment. In the UK most police are still unarmed. When armed squads have been sent in they often end up in the paper ...e.g. see the following link

Having a gun by my bed isn't glamourous or sexy nor was I trying to make it sound like that. IT just IS. It's not an abnormal thing and I'd have forgotten it was there b

Agh! Got cut off.

Anyway I was cleaning and found the gun. It's just there. No biggie.

Yes I DO like guns. I like to shoot. Target practice takes off some serious stress.
IDK ... I guess my point is even if you ban guns they still exsist. I think people need to be educated for the "just in case" scenerio. A clueless person around a gun = accident/injury/death.

I'm all about do what you want to do as long as you aren't hurting anyone. If you don't like guns don't have one. IF you own a gun have be responisble with it or do the time 🙂 It's all about personal responsiblity.

Inregards to what CGL said about American gun culture. Up here in Canada we have a gun culture too but it isn't as strong as the US of A. I myself use to be conservative to the t. I was infavor of the whole wide world owning guns, so that we could "protect" ourselves from ourselves.

Stats say that if you own a gun your TEN times more likely to be shot with a gun. People who think they need a gun for protection are actually admitting they will use it during an altercation where they feel their life is in danger. Hence if they have bad aim or are simply out gun, then it will be them dying in a pool of their own blood.

But now I believe we should evolve past our gun culture and focus on bringing love and peace to the world. It is ironic that America thinks of itself as a "Christian nation" when they are such a gun tooting people. However a greater point here is the censorship in America.

America loves her guns but hates the act of sex. Sex is dirty, godless, filthy thing to do and show on TV, music and must be hidden underneath a thick blanket. But guns. Fuck, Guns are A USA OK. I mean didn't Jesus carry a shoot gun when he was preaching about forgiveness and love thy enemies. Of course he was. And it don't matter if you take a bullet for the gun team, as long as you keep love as far away from this Christian nation, you can keep your guns and shoot them too.

Now to this Canadian I will think America land of the religious paranoid.

Hey eric ^_^.

Its true, in America we have a alot issues we as americans are in extreme denial about. Just because I live here doesn't mean I'm not aware of them, because I am.

I didn't know you were canadian 😄 That's awesome. Its so funny, when I was in middle school, this show on Comedy Central -- South Park -- use to be REALLLY popular. South Park the Movie came out and they would talk about canada and such. I was like whatever lol

Well ... I'll be lying if I were to say that feelings aren't still there. But I'm mad with him and he's mad with me ... along with dealing with his ex issues and such. Anyway, he's mad with me for not listening to him and I'm mad at him for being mad with me for not listening to him ... and, and yeah.

If we got back together, things would be different ... it wouldn't be so light-hearted.

I'm a very laid-back and light-hearted person. He likes to have fun but he tends to be of the serious nature. I am emotionally intense (can't you tell lol) and he's emotionally heavy -- you can see it in his eyes, he been through some stuff.

One thing is for sure, we can both see through each other ... yes, he can see straight through me and I hate it! I can't see through him too and it makes him nervous.

Do we need each other, I'm not sure. One thing is for sure, I won't forget him and I'm sure he won't forget me either.

I'm scared to get back together with him ... my roommate made trouble before behind my back, how am I suppose to know that he won't do it again? Yes, he literally made trouble on purpose.

He's aware of the Leo-Virgo's emotional breakdown a few years ago so he KNOWS his sensitive spots and he likes to poke at him 😢 I can't do much because there some stuff that the Leo-Virgo does not want me to know and the roomie is using that as a ways to keep us apart because he will spill the beans.

I don't know what caused the emotional-nernous breakdown but it sent him somewhere and he doesn' t want me to know where.

Maybe he's afraid he'll go back there if the roommate does whatever! I don't know, but all this stuff is heavy and I don't like it.

I wish ... I just wish I could have made better decisions.

well that was just what i gathered from this post.. that maybe you were considering him again..

How did you get that from the post 😉

I was talking about my roomie having a gun that I was unaware .....

I can't admit that I want to be with him ... that would be soooo, not capricorn like. To say that would make me a weak woman ... even though I know he was completely telling the truth about my roomie and I failed to listen.

How do I even say it man? He kept warning me and I was like, "Whatever? You need to get it?"

I was mean ...

It sucks being a capricorn at times. We know how we feel, but we can't seem to bring it out. So we are just as soon to say forget it, I'm done.

The thing is, I'm wrong about something like this with him, then I'll be wrong about 'everything' else to. And he'll be the only 'voice of reason'. You know, something petty like that.

I'll figure it all about but I think I've come to terms with the fact that going out with someone else right now may only make things worse ....

When I did that the last time he and I had a fallen-out, he said I 'kicked him to the left said' or something like that. I don't think I didn't that, I was just upset about something that happened and I didn't and I thought we were "done". I guess from the way he looked at times, we weren't done yet ...

I should think he'd respect you more for being big enough to admit when you're wrong.I would anyway 🙂

Okay, I see it. I will go through the motions and then I'll see where it takes me.

He hasn't had it easy and I haven't been a basket-of-fruit myself. I should have listened to him, the way things are going, my stubornness got the best of me.

I had a feeling something wasn't right with my roommate. I was just too hang up on him being upset at the fact that I was living with a man, to actually see exactly why he seemed some put-off by it but only gave alittle information.

Yes, I see now.
