My experience was with scorp sun/cap moon (what a dark ass combo). He kept his emotions to himself. VERY controlled, experienced episodes of depression, moodiness, no trust and big time mommy issues, which is typical of this moon. Its been writtent his IS the harshest moon placement, as its in *detriment*. He went into a lot of self loathing, low self esteem, which is also Scorp traits, so basically this sweetie was double fucked. he set a lot of self fulfilling negative prophesies and double messages.

Thanks guys!

I was doing some research and read that it's basically considered the coldest moon placement because it's directly opposite Cancer who's ruler is the moon, and therefore is in detriment.

@M
I would of thought that Aqua would be considered the coldest moon too but not so. Almost everything I've read (lots) has given that title to Cap.

@BGP
Wow, I could only imagine what that chap is like in business. He could probably climb any ladder and be damn ruthless if he wanted.
Yea, Cap moons are not very expressive when it comes to love. Getting us to show feelings is like pulling teeth!

*sigh* it's a bit depressing, lol. They make it seem like having a Cap moon is like being given a death sentence!

i have cap moon and i'm around quite a few. i don't think it's actual coldness, but a cool and contained demeanor. we don't like our emotions out on display in public. we worry about finding the right way to express ourselves. and coming to trust others is much more difficult. there's a very strong need for a sense of security.

while i'm very unfiltered and raw with those i'm close to, if i'm not comfortable with a person/situation, i emote nothing. i appear detached. it frustrates the hell out of people who can't see past my pokerface.

as a scorp though, the cap influence really keeps me in check, productive, super sharp, and grounded. i'm thankful for it.

Thank you, exo. This has made things much clearer for me. I always knew being a Virgo sun there would always be some level of an inherent coldness, but I never really understood the role that the moon played, and when I recently read that Cap is its 'worst' placement, I wanted to hear what others had to say about their personal experiences. What you described in your first paragraph is so me to the tenth degree. On dxp we can let loose but in the RW, it's all as you say--poker face. I don't trust easily, and love does not come without a fight. I almost feel as though my emotions have been arrested, lol.

And I was going to say this to BGP that yes, the Cap moon will absolutely balance that Scorp sun.

I'm a Cap (SagiCap for cusp pedants) with a Cap moon. Deep and dark has been used to describe me, even seemingly unpresent/absentminded) but never cold. My Leo husband never sensed a disinterest or coldness from me. My parents have always been concerned that I'm too emotional, sensitive and that it makes me an easy target. My Pisces dad has trouble with this deep and emotional side of me that are often projected as aggressiveness. But these are of course people who know me well. There may be people who've never really got to know me who think of me as cold but they've never told me so I wouldn't know because of my tendency to be deep in thought.

Sometimes I can be the way Exoskeleton describes herself in her second paragraph. I can be very uncommunicative, with an unemotive face or I blabber and have the widest smile so no one else gets a word in. I need to stay in control one way or the other. Deep issues? Definitely!

Thank You, BG,

Horoscope aside, of course you and I already know that our experiences, the way we were nurtured, environment etc., are all factors that help to influence what I'd like to call our emotional habits. Obviously I don't know you or anything about your life, but, my sister is a Cap sun who used to be really emotional about everything when she was younger due to some things that she had gone through, and basically emotional immaturity, but now that she's gotten older and worked through alot of her past issues, she's less emotional and today, a typical example of an emotionally strong Cap woman.

I too can be very uncommunicative and that's usually if I don't get good vibes from who's around me or some days also like you, I just want to live in my head, and as a Virgo, that's very easy to do.

Capricorn is the most materialistic and the most spiritual of the zodiac from the esoteric point.
Especially if your chart is mixed with a water sign like scorpio or cancer can makes you even more complex and deeper.
Difficult to get to know and often misunderstood.

But then again, not all cappies are the same. Prominents are important and sure there are common traits but when it comes to the individual, people differ in content.

Thanks Satrio.

The Scorp/Cap sun/moon combo has always intrigued me. I'm going to read up on it some more as well as all of the interesting info surrounding prominents.

Thank you, VV, I appreciate that being said, the cap moon balances the scorp sun. I actually thought it would make it worse, given the extreme emotional nature of scorpios. But, your and Exo's explanations here make sense.

My former scorp sun/cap moon fella has been in therapy many times, believes in it, and is quite open to talking about spiritual growth and personal evolution. He has also been married twice and a few other failed relationships, so romantic happiness has been a challenge for him, not to mention the cold narcisisstic mother who literally has never said "I love you" to him a day in his life and treated him as an extension of her success. He could never do or be enough for her, so the typical "cap mooner mom" syndrome. With me, trust was rarely given, walls erected pretty high and when confronted with inconsistent behavior, went into scorpio silence.

Sigh...and yet, he loves his own children without reservation and is a doting dad, very successful in his field (tho he probably would feel he isnt good ENOUGH), gives a lot to his community.

BG,

My former cap moon man also felt like, what he called, a "schmuck" esp where it came to women taking advantge of him. He was a helper, or what I call, codependent. ie: putting other peoples needs ahead of his own. I, too, am in recovery for this in Al-Anon. Having been married to an alcoholic, I ALWAYS tried to fix people and cater to their needs first. No more....I am important. I am valuable and NO ONE will treat me as such until I treated myself as such.

There's such a natural understanding between my boys and I regarding our tempers and triggers and security needs. Even Leo hub has learnt to understand that an outburst from any of the boys or me is not the end of the world and it's really in Leo's interest to look at other's needs otherwise his needs might get squashed too. 😉

Hey there,

Sorry for the late response. Got so busy over the Holiday season. Hope your New Year is going well.

It seems like you all have an understanding. That's great. These are things that can be worked on, and it's hard when you don't have anyone around you that doesn't know where you are coming from. There should always be compromise however, and as long as your husband (or anyone for that matter) isn't sacrificing to cater to the family without getting his own needs met with love and respect, it's all good.

I'm a Cap moon/mars, and I have to say that I've dealt with a lot of the same struggles that many of you have mentioned. I agree that we NEED to feel a sense of security in our lives/relationships- which can make us quite the control freaks. I am also quite calculated and do find it very difficult to trust. If I meet you and don't feel a warm/friendly vibe from you initially, the defences go up and the poker face goes on. I would imagine that I would come across cold and detached at first glance.

On a positive note, I will say that my Cap moon helps me to be taken seriously in a school/athletics/work environment. I've always been very successful and a overachiever.

With my loved ones, I'm very warm, open and communicative with my feelings- sometimes overly so. If I love you, I will gush about you- to your face.

Yes. That Cap moon comes in very handy for business.

I`ve a Cap moon and my mother had an Aqua moon.
As I remember from my childhood motherly figure is way too distant for me. It`s maybe because she used to work for long hours, I had some feeling that she consider me as a burden rather than child. But I can`t complain too much, since she raised me, just Aqua moon mothers are pretty cold/indifferent towards their children.

That's something I thought about as a Virgo sun/Cap moon. Being too distant from my children. I can see it now because I can be like that with my nieces and nephew. Does it mean that I don't care? Absolutely not. Now being fully aware of this, I make a conscious effort to be more openly affectionate and vocal about not being able to do certain things with them at certain times because I've got business of my own to tend to. I've always valued my independence and strongly believe that children don't stop no show, and if you can make time for your own priorites, dreams and goals whether you have 1 child or 10, you should.

That said, growing up in a home with a Scorp mom there was never a shortage of hugs and kisses. 🙂

I've got a Capricorn Moon conjunct Mercury in the 7th. I think this conjunction modifies the Lunar Capricorn traits that I have. Unlike most Cappy Moons, I have a great relationship with my Mom. My dad has a Capricorn Moon and his mother gave him up for adoption. He HATES his mother for that... Hm. Its really not a bad placement though. Just be genuine and sincere. Give me space and time. Don't betray me.... and we'll get along FINE. 😄

Things can get a little rocky with me and mom from time to time but it's just basic mother daughter stuff. Nothing too serious. She spoils me rotten 😄 but won't hesitate to cuss my axx out the moment I get into one of my moods or start to nitpick, and the next day we're back to brand new again. 🙂

And agreed, space and loyalty is all I ask.
