i have this book on dream interpretation, it is sort of a dictionary and a friend lent it to me, i had a dream where i was protecting a (i dont remember what type of bear it was, but im guessing a polar bear) a mother bear and her cub from a polar bear. the polar bear seemed to have a playful aura, to it, much like a puppy pitbull i used to have, which reminded me of it in the dream, but at the same time i sensed fear because you never know with animals, and the bear that was trying to catch or play or eat the baer and her cub was a polar bear, however, toward the end of the dream, the polar bear tricked me and went under a table to get near the cub and when i got to it and started hitting it with a broom, it turned into a black bear, and began to come after me which i ran away( i work at papa johns and this is where the setting took place, the bear chasing the other bear and the cub to the back and then chasing me to the front), it chased me to the front and i knocked some things down to try and stop it (it did not have a aggressive feel to it, once again it was a playful aura that the bear was chasing me with, but my fears were that its instincts would take over when it got to me) and once it got to the front of the building the bear turned into a tall white woman with a green shirt and large breasts and a large smile and started sliding to the side and that all i remember. my book tells me that the bear represents a motherly figure and that me hitting the bear means that im going through a struggle and will come out victorious, however a website(http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/dreamdictionarysearch.pl?method=exact&header=dreamsymbol&search=bear)tells me that the polar bear means renewal and rebirth yadda yadda. is there a better source of truth and perspection on dreams or is everything i look at going to be different and thus will i never have an accurate determination of what my dream means?

i agree that it's only you that can interpret your dreams. what i did was keep a dream journal. write it down while still fresh in your mind. then, go back to it later. whether later that day or in a few days. that helps to look at it with a fresh mind. it will make sense to you eventually and after doing this for awhile, it will help you get "in-tune" with your subconscience. to the point where you won't have to keep the written journal any longer. 🙂

most if not all of what you said dazed i could relate to in such a way that better helped me understand the dream. thank you. the integration aspect. the dream was the last one that i had in a 3-sequence, the other 2 being about my ex. im guessing the motherly figure is either my aunt or me ex( she mothered me alot, her having an earth moon and mine being a cancer and our relationship is rocky right now, her being the black bear since its the opposite of purity and innocence.) there are other possiblities to what the bear was reguarding people in my life. when i imagined in my head all of the characters being me it didnt necessarily help me that much but i will try and remember it more. as for it being an integration dream, it did occur in the later hours of my sleep, it being the 3rd dream in the sequence of 3( the other 2 having to do with my ex-gf, and me not feeling the best emotions toward her in them). i used to write them down and it help me alot more than reading and trying to deeply interpret it, but with the books in the websites its actually made it more confusing.

Dream interpretations IMO, cannot really peg what it is your sub-conscience is telling you, they can give us ideas as to what maybe going on but only you that can unlock the secret.

The bears symbolize your dog and the playful feeling you had with them in your dream. Papa Johns, maybe you are at work more than home, a deep connection with someone you work with.

The fear of the bears turning on you, Pitbulls are known for that, maybe you were always careful around your dog when you played.

Bear turns into white woman at the end...You are hiding feelings for a white woman? racial connotation between a White Bear and a Black Bear.

Boy growing into manhood...having feelings of boyish playfulness with bear/dog, then that interaction with playful dog turns into playful interaction with a woman.

this is some real shit right here. i spend more time at work and look forward to spending time there because i reguard there more as a home than where i live. i have deep bonds with my managers and some co workers. theylisten to my crazy talk and even indulge in it themselves.
