I just woke up from a sleep paralysis nap. If anyone has experienced these before, then they know how terrifying they can be, your mind plays tricks on you and you start to see and hear things that aren’t there. So I had fallen asleep, well actually my body did, but then my mind was awake and I couldn’t move my body or speak, kind of like being paralyzed (hence the name sleep paralysis ). Anyway I have experienced these a number of times in my life, but I could never get used to them. Today I was imagining that I was trying to call out to someone but my jaw was locked so tight that I had broken my tooth and started bleeding. I had also imagined that my sister was there and I could hear her sleeping, waking up, and getting ready for work but she had already left about an hour ago. I finally wake up and it just trips me out, it felt like I had taken a hallucinogen or something. It seems like the harder I try to wake myself up, the worse it gets, and I somehow manage to keep one eye open during the duration of it all which is total nightmare fuel especially at night. Does anyone have any stories or experiences they want to share?
Hey guys, has anyone ever experienced sleep paralysis?
Posted by DeadInsideYeah I bet, I think I read somewhere that they are caused by sleep deprivation and if you eat too much food or sugar before going to sleep.
i have so many
I am not sure how to describe this, but have you ever felt like gravity was really heavy during sleep paralysis?

My room is pretty messy right now, that might have something to do with it.
Posted by hollyhockSo have I, ive had it for as long as I remember. Do you think it may be passed down from your parents because my mom had them too and my sister gets that too.
When I was a teenager, yes.
Posted by ShadowcatUgh yeah that sounds a lot like what I used to see and hear although sometimes the images wouldn’t be so clear. Were you able to open your eyes?
I have a reoccurring one where I can't move or breathe under the covers. Around the tike when my lucid dreaming got weird, my sleep paralysis got worse. I would see things sitting on my bed, see figures out of the corner of my perception. I've heard voices and that was some freaky shit.
Posted by Capmercury87Dang, were you able to scream though because I can never get a noise to come out. I can relate though, some of those times scared the crap out of me but there was nothing I could really do and so now, similar to you I don’t really feel afraid of anything. How were you able to enjoy it?
I go thru this alot, but I enjoy it. Perhaps because lucid dreams are far more worse.
I've had enough lucid dreams to scare the fear out of me for the rest of my life.
Nothing like trying to shake yourself awake while you can hear the screams of people in the walls, yelling out of pain. I went to my car in the lucid dream and screamed as loud as I could for someone to wake me up.
No one woke me up tho. I woke up in bed.
