First of all, I am sorry you lost your mom so long ago. Having not experienced that loss I am at best the blind leading the blind. That being said, I will ask some bold questions regarding the dreams as I would see it.

Is it possible that you need a bit of "mother" in your life right now?
Is there something in your life that you need to regain control of?
Or, something in your life you need to take the blinders off and truly see?

Perhaps a little of all of the above....

My mother is someone who I value, while our opinions and perceptions are entirely different, she is the one that can help steer me in a direction of understanding, whether it's hers, mine, or something I had not yet thought of. She is also someone that could make me roll my eyes, inhale deeply and stomp off (yes I still have some maturing to do), BUT there are times I am so caught up in the little details that I don't see the forest for the trees. And as much as I value her, she has the most AMAZING way of pushing my buttons like no one can. The annoying thing is, 50% of the time she was right to do so. I have found dream journals helpful, especially for recurring dreams. Sometimes, I found it to be deeply personal, and sometimes, just a dream.
