Ok, so I LOVE makeup! I don't wear it everyday but when I do, I like to really look made up. For some reason I can never get my makeup to look like I have on much of it.

I know some women like their make up to look natural, and if that's you this question is not for you. Since I'm not an everyday wearer, I'm natural most days, when I go out on the toen I want there to be a NOTICABLE transformation. Idk what I'm doing wrong!

I highlight and contour with concealer, put foundation over that, go over my highlighted areas AGAIN, then bake them! I still look pretty naturally made up in pics. I really can't tell I've done much.

Anyone have any suggestions for me??

Can you post the before and after if you have any saved? I tried to contour after watching videos... (I looked like a chucky doll)

I found, there are four places to focus on.

Mascara.

Undereye concealer.

Bit of blush

And lipstick.

But I've been known to wear falsys and do it up.
If only I knew how! Lol

You want pointers?

Less is always more. If you go au natural, a little mascara, blush and lipstick do the trick.

I'm talking to a canvas blind though.

You probably should try a full coverage foundation. Cream foundations are going to give the fullest coverage.

Anyhow, foundation first, then do your cream/ concealer highlight and contour on top of the foundation. DONT PUT ANYMORE FOUNDATION ON TOP OF YOUR CREAMS. That is probably why it's not looking like much.

After that set the highlight, countour, and any other areas with a powder specifically for each.
I end up using three different shades for this.
Lightest shade down the center of my nose , under my eyes and high cheeks.
A very deep shade on the sides of my nose and under cheekbones, and a skin tone match for the rest of the areas remaining. I then set the highlight with a shimmery powder( BECCA) .

Anyways sorry this is so long, this topic is right up my alley. Lol
You've just given me LIFE! Lol I use a liquid and was just considering buying a cream! Thanks 🙂

Also I started putting the concealer under the foundation first Bc I watched a YouTube video where the makeup artist did that and it came out beautifully.

What's your fave cream foundation? I am partial to makeup forever.

Hmm.. Isnt that supposed to be one of the greatest cover ups? Weird.. Id say make sure you use a primer (I love benefits Porefessional) and a setting spray (Macs fix+ works wonders)

Aside from that Idk girl cus I see lots of beauty gurus who use makeup forever and swear by it (never tried it, I lean more on the clay based formulas that Tarte has because Im acne prone and like the cruelty-free aspect of it)

I find it hard to get primers with pigment these days. They are all clear! It's so annoying!

Yeah but it doesnt have to be tinted if it gets the job done! You can always buy a trial size and test it. Put it on before foundation or mix it with your foundation 🙂.

When Im going to an event where there'll be pictures taken my steps are as follows:

Clean & moisturized canvas obvi. âž¡ï¸

Primer âž¡ï¸ 2 coats of liquid Foundation âž¡ï¸ (cream) Concealer âž¡ï¸ shit ton of long-wear contour/bronzer (usually in powder form) âž¡ï¸ Highlight (cream) âž¡ï¸ Setting spray.

And then whether Im doing my eyes or not changes when I use my setting spray. But yeah... I just honestly go heavy on the foundation, Ive found a beautiful balance between looking natural and done up but NOT caked up by experimenting on the amt of makeup I use to beat my face up

Currently primer concealer where needed and liquid foundation. I don't contour right now I just use a tiny little blush to stop me looking like a ghost. But that's just my look now. I could change that next month. It has been very low key.

But now I want to channel mental patient /Helena Bonham carter only blonde!

Haha i love her! She's actually inspired me to use a lot of maroons and copper tones on my bottom lash line.

Simple, elegant and striking.

Something about a wash of *matte* white eyeshadow, paired with

black cat-eye liner, really makes it stand out... quite a contrast,

without looking trashy.

If you just want to experiment, Milani makes a pretty good one,

called Bella White.

And a red suited for *your* colouring is a must... go to department

store for clinique or lancome, where the people who work there

know what they're doing.

I won't wear eye makeup with dark lipstick... and when I do wear

eye makeup, I keep my lips pale-- but that is just personal preference.

If you want your makeup to stand out... use both.
