My sister and her husband do this diet...it sounds too difficult for me...there are certain combinations of foods you cannot do...if I remember correctly, it means not ever eating a sandwich again...as bread and protein don't go together according to the Zone...
I have a friend who is on the "Prism" diet..and she swears by it! She and her husband are losing weight and loving it! I think it is similar to the Zone...but, I think I could do the Prism more easily...
in the beginning I wouldn't be able to eat a sandwich...but, eventually, I could add it back in as long as it was a whole grain bread...

I am certainly not an expert! But, you might want to read about the Prism diet...there is info on the net...

P.S. You've already lost weight and you already look great! What is the deal, girl?!

Hey Star, thanks for the info! Never heard of the Prism diet, but I'm sure I'll find stuff on the net. Not too happy about no more sandwiches. lol. We shall see...

Now, don't you worry, I love food way too much to ever be anorexic or bulimic (sp?) or anything like that. I just want to find a strict regimented diet plan that will make absolutely sure I never gain weight again (looking at last year's Christmas pictures triggered this desire in me, lol, not that I was fat, or even clinically overweight, but I definitely hate the way I looked back then and never want to feel like that ever ever ever again). I am heading back to the gym (after a lengthy hiatus, lol) pretty soon here and I was just thinking that I would benefit the most by having a set diet in play to go along with the excersise I've been slacking on lately. Thank you for the compliment btw, you sweet heart! 🙂

Phoenix, I am currently on the Xenadrine diet pills which are very effective for me. I go on them for about a few weeks and then stop. I like to lose weight for special events is the reason. You still have to watch your intake but it will work especially with exercise. You will lose very fast. For some people, they find that their heart beats really fast. Use at your own discretion. Anyway, it has no ephedrine and it works! You don't have to cut out all foods but some of them.

One more thing, there is NO quick fix to lose weight. It is a Lifetime change. Before going on a diet, think to yourself, "Could I be on this diet forever? " I don't think normal people could cut out good tasting foods and carbs forever and besides who would want to live that way? I would just watch my portions and exercise 3-5 times a week for better health.

Hey twinkee, thanks for your advice! Where could I find that Xenadrine stuff? Those pills sound pretty cool--they really don't have any ephedrine? Because I used to take these pills called Hydroxycut (which has ephedrine), and I when I signed up at the gym (24 Hour Fitness) the guy was taking my resting heart rate and he completely freaked out, he was like, okay, I want you to see a doctor, blah blah blah (I think my resting heart rate was like 182 beats per minute or something, but I could be wrong, it's been awhile). Anyway he said it could be from the ehedrine in the pills I was taking, so I stopped. Thing is, coffee does the almost the same thing but not as severe (I went back in and let him take my heart rate after I stopped the pills but had drank like 2 cups of coffee). Point being that apparently ephedrine really affects my system and I've been advised to stay away from it, so I'm really excited that there could be something without it that can help take the weight off!! 😛

Phoenix, thanks. The Xenadrine pills can be found at Wal-mart if you have one or the same place you found the Hydroxycut. I have heard of that and they are usually in the same area in stores. Xenadrine used to contain ephedrine, but has deleted it and replaced it with something else. I am not sure what it is so you'd better check it out. Like I said, use these as a boost! Dieting is a lifetime change dear. Congrats on the weight loss! I am currently dieting.

There is a diet I want to try.... I saw it on Oprah? or one of those. You can eat all you want, just hte right stuff. For example, a side dish of 5 onion rings is equal in calories to 6 baked potatoes, each with their own special topping. And a blueberry tart the width of baseball is equal to six ice cream cones (chocalote or vanilla). This is something I'd like to try.
