Dear dxpnet users, what is the best way in your opinion into dealing with major anxiety issues?
I have been dealing with anxiety for a few years, due to difference causes. I haven't taken any particular medication for this nor have I seen a therapist about it and if I did, I don't honestly know how I would explain everything.

Whenever I'm feeling anxious, my stomach tightens severely, I can't eat, my mind is a mess, I can't focus, my heart beats extremely fast. I usually like to sleep things off or cry it out but it doesn't work all the time.

What are your suggestions?
Thank you!

Then I'll begin drinking St. John's wort and maybe go to a natural drug store and see what I can find.

I also considered going to a therapist but I'm not sure if it would actually classify as a real medical condition or just..."a bad day" lol
It's not constant, it comes and goes and sometimes it's self induced but what starts with a SMALL thought goes on to a huge catastrophe in my head.

As strange as it sounds, stop giving a fuck and condition yourself not to let your mind wander into such mental distress.

At my old job, it was a total clusterfuck. At some point, going in on nights where I knew we'd be busy as fuck, I'd develop so much anxiety and almost get panic attacks before going in. Serving is a stressful job as it is, but when the restaurant is run like shit, you can lose your damned mind.

I learned to basically develop "don't give a fuck" attitude about all of it. They wanna slam me, fine. The customers are going to have to wait. I can't get to all of them in the timeframe the restaurant expects because they seat me too much and too fast. Oh well.

As strange as it sounds, it helped quite a bit. Took some time, but it worked.

Also, when you get stuck in your head and start to get anxious due to thoughts, start learning to tune that shit out. I'm prone to doing that at times, thinking about situations and tons o "what ifs" and I start worrying. I either distract myself or start using some logical thinking as to why I need to stop worrying about this shit.

You can self medicate with the hippie methods all you want, but you just stated the source of the problem. Fix that instead of covering it up with medications.

I usually simply go for walks, LONG walks while listening to classical music or simply peaceful music.
I admit into not doing any meditation or yoga recently so I might as well start on that.

I will definitely try that oil belly message starlover, sounds cozy 😄
Long walks are good 🙂

But if you'll start walking a little faster (keep the music!) ... enough to get

your heart rate up for a while (like 15-20 min)... you're going to get

the benefit of endorphins AND (for me, anyway) that purges the anxiety

and even helps with perspective.

Gets rid of so much of the tension, too... try it!

You probably won't need medication or meditation (ohmy). lol
