I love the movement. And I love people are catching on. I've been playing in the dirt all of my life. Sometimes trends aren't too bad. Michael Pollan, Joel Salatin are heroes of mine.

First of April we will be doing the 3rd rotation and trying a few berry bushes and grape vines. Hope my babies grow when I plant them. I'm going to make some wine and juices for the farmers market in late summer.

People in the city how are you going to do your container gardens?

It's a movement? ?? Yay!!

I just moved to a new place and I have a small back yard but it never gets sun due to the position of my building! It was so discouraging finding this out. But I think I will have a few herbs indoors this year and I don't know what I am going to do about the rest.

Last year when I had the space we had squash, greens, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, cabbage and melons. I don't know what I'm going to do this time around with no sun!

Are you familiar with Growing Power?

http://www.growingpower.org

Every year I tour the flagship farm here in MKE to get myself psyched up for a garden. Sadly, I still haven't grown a green thumb. When the Shorty gets old enough, I'm gonna sign us up to volunteer there and learn wth I'm doing wrong.

But yes. Love the movement.
This is what we're trying to do. Friend is networking with schools for day trips to learn about farming. We also have a farm to table program with a couple of restaurants in town. First time we're doing that. I hope it keeps up. It's helping with funding the farm.

Teaching kids about agriculture is one of our main goals.
