I read up on it and their approach sounds kinda normal from their "about us" standpoint, but the feedback from clients sounds terrible. You shouldn't have to take hCG shots and all that bullshit.
http://nicolesrevolution.blogspot.com/2012/07/weight-not-follow-up.html<BR> From the sound of it, you don't need a "program," nor need to shell out a ton of cash to basically diet and exercise properly. You can learn about all the proper ways to lose weight by researching CREDIBLE sources online (articles by exercise physiologists, RDs, etc). There are just far too many fad diets and "programs" out there targeted to make money. I can't count how many times I've heard of diets and exercise regimens created by "doctors" that people follow blindly because of that "doctor" title. But if you do your research, those "doctors" are cardiologists, chiropractors, GPs, etc. You know how much nutrition knowledge they cover in med school? One or two classes. They don't know shit.
How often do you see RD or physiologist as the author/creator of any fad diet books/"programs?" These individuals have extensive knowledge and education behind diet and exercise, yet much the nation takes advice from individuals who have very little knowledge and base their assumptions on some shaky studies that show a small percentage of success and base their model on that.
That said, just knowing this company is pawning off an expensive "program" to lose weight says enough. It's hard work losing weight and too many of these programs try to tout that their approach is "easy."
Do yourself a favor, do some homework on the basics of weight loss as far as diet and exercise goes. You'd be better off seeing an RD about your current diet, and you could keep it as basic as seeing a personal trainer for some tips, but if you can find a truly legit one, they'll be able to calculate your proper caloric needs/intake in order to lose weight.
...and for god's sake avoid anything that promotes protein shakes. I'm about to lose my mind behind that obsession. :/
Rocky, I did more research on the program. The original program had the shots and protein shakes. The program changed, probably from trial, error, and complaints. I spoke with a rep, as I take medication for health reasons and needed to know what/if the program involved anything that would conflict. The initial shakes are for detox/cleansing and are made of vitamins and nutrients, no drugs. The program offers a very strict and regimented diet, which is something I need. It spells out everything a person needs to eat, when, how much. The only exercise requirement is to walk five miles a day. This includes any normal walking done during the day. Their stated purpose is to burn 300 calories per day. I go to the gym about every other day. Do the elliptical for about 20 mins (1.5 miles), and use machines to tone.
I started the program four days ago. I have lost 11 pounds and 1 1/2 inches from my waist. My diet is 1145 calories a day. The food I eat is very healthy and filling. I feel no more hungry than I felt when I was eating 1100 calories per meal. My energy levels have increased and my sleep time has improved. I have a goal of 60 pounds to lose and feel very confident that I can reach it.
People complain that the cost of healthy food is so high. Once you eliminate all of the snacks and dairy, the cost comes out less than what I'd have normally spent.
Thank you for your input. Oh, my health insurance would not cover any type of weight management....go figure. I'd have had to come out of pocket to see a nutritionist. This cost less. Amazingly, my doctor wanted to give me pills to lose weight/curb appetite, no advise on eating properly and becoming healthier, though she has no problem telling me how high my BMI is.
You can believe whatever that sales person told you, but I highly doubt they have any idea what they're talking about other than selling that crap.
But you already sound gullible and brainwashed, so have fun with the next fad diet. Hope all works out for you and you don't get scammed out of a ton of money.
