Sloane,

As much as you dislike getting a new job, you didn't deserve what they did to you, and you'll find a better one where they will appreciate and respect you. If I were you, I would get your benefits and as soon as they kicked in, I would set my revenge plot against those bastards. I don't mean go postal or anything, but there has to be something you can do. Like slander that b**** or whatever. I could never let someone get off that easy!!! That's the Scorp in me I guess!

Sloane,
Sometimes these things happen for a reason, its natures way of looking after you. It sounds to me like the woman you were working for was a b.... so now she is left with her own venemous self, let her rot in hell...!
If you are skilled and qualified you shouldnt have any probs getting another job. My experience in the workplace is this:
NEVER reveal personal details, ALWAYS save for a rainy day and know more about them than they know about you.
Also, when you sense something is amiss, look elsewhere for work.

Most of all, dont take it to heart, its an opportunity for change... 🙂

ML, thankyou for your response and you're right, but I NEVER told her anything about me personally except for a medical condition that she insited that I tell her about. Believe me, I didn't want to go into it. I don't gossip at all, although she does quite frequently and I know she talks about me and others. I think I am a model employee: I come in on time EVEY DAY, I do what I'm told, I don't give any lip to anyone, I do a good job, am thorough. I will try to not take this to heart like you said. I just don't like being misunderstood by an employer.

Hey Sloane,

Do you know what? I think she is jealous of you, woah... she must have been SO threatened if you are such a good employee! Seriously!
Think about it... why else would she dismiss you like that? Forget about her, You have your answer...

Its good that you conducted yourself with the utmost of respect because now you know you did no wrong.
Sloane, walk away with your head held high, she is the one with her head in the mud.
Also, the best revenge is SUCCESS and HAPPINESS so now concentrate all your energies on these two things.
The thing is this; you are angry... I say, deal with the anger, feel it, seethe, fester, let it all out, and then MOVE ON LIKE YOU'VE NEVER MOVED ON BEFORE!!! And dont ever let anybody do this to you again... Go into you next job interview with a bit of 'attitude'. I know its hard, being a libran you think everybody else operates on the 'whats fair' basis but let me tell you (and you've just experienced this), they dont.

I wish there was something you 'had' on her... It would be so good if you could just rip the carpet out from under her feet before you left but then again, REVENGE is a meal best served cold...

Do you know what? Go for it. I hope you get an amazing job and move forward in leaps and bounds.
Goodluck,
seeya,
ML.
PS. Let us know how you go.

For the post above, I dont know why my number keeps changing, its still me. From now on Ill sign 'ML'. Also, another thing I wanted to say is always make sure you know your rights in the workplace, there are laws covering most types of discrimination etc...
Was this dismissal 'legitimate', what I mean is, was it above the law? Make sure you get the correct amount in your payout, make sure of everything. I was underpaid weekly in one job I had, kept all my payslips and then took them to 'wageline' when I was finished with them. Always excercise your rights.
Seeya,
ML.

PS, ML, I know EXACTLY what you mean about making sure that my paycheck is correct and getting paid, etc. The ONLY reason I am working this week is to ensure that I get paid. They told me last Friday that I was being "laid off" and I will be paid for this week REGARDLESS of whether I work it or not. I asked for this in writing--I even typed up the agreement and asked my superior to sign it--he didn't want to so I thought , OK, they'll lie again so I'll have to work it to get paid. Can't trust 'em.

Sloane,

She has some limp- wristed, cock- sucker doing her bidding for her. You may not have a job-- big deal-- you'll get another one. The backstabber has a job, and that's about it!!! Where is the integrity— I'll tell you something else too Sloane, she (your ex-boss) may use that guy (the office snitch), but she won't respect him nor will anyone. I have watched that same senario played out dozens of times. Someone thinks they can get job security by brown nosing. They not only don't get job security, they are hated by the boss and other employees. Yeah, the boss will use him, but they don't respect someone like that!

One other thing, keep your head up and a nice smile on your face and keep your cool...go out of there with grace and dignity and get your money you have coming, especially your UI benefits. Didn't you say she got severed with a subpoena? Sounds like she already has some problems. Someone eventually is gonna take the knife out of her hands and use on her! You follow me?

Sloane,

This is your scope for today from Astro
Abby--

LIBRA:

For June 19: A gentle, subtle approach this morning creates confidence and closeness. Don't rock the boat or demand instant response. Easy does it. You'll get the cooperation and answers you desire by being polished and gracious. Make sure that facts are delivered truthfully midday, minus fluff and adornment. Be straight up with people. Let them know the bottom line so that they can either make other arrangements or compromise with you. This is not the time to mislead or pander to others' fantasies.

Just to make it clear that I didn't miss quote you this what I was going on!

"I DID approach her about the calls coming in about MY position and the resumes coming in the fax--not to mention the ad they placed in a magazine--they're not too bright!! She said "don't worry" "you're crazy-don't worry" I think she lied to me all three times--also her henchman sidekick who placed the ad--he lied to me also. I asked around the office--no ne knows what's going on unless they're lying too."

64,
I cant believe you went back and found Sloanes post! Havent you anything better to do?!!!
Sloane, try to look into legal rights regarding your payout, the fairness of your dismissal etc... In some countries, it is illegal to unfairly dismiss, infact, you sometimes need to get 3 written warnings first. In our country, there are rights covering these sorts of things and they are enforced. I only hope there is in yours.
Keep going, you're doing well. Dont let them get to you. Everytime they do simply visualise that guy with his nose up that womens arse (literally) and how funny it looks.
Seeya,
ML.

As far as me going back and finding someone else's posts, it's really quite easy! It's called total recall, which I have, and which makes me great at research and discovery. 210, if you decide to go into law, you'll need to have more than just an opinion to argue a case you have to have facts too!

That's right your intrests are psychology not law, right.

She wasn't fired she was laid off, big difference. The company has covered their a**. Follow the story, jerkoff!

Anyway, in this country your only protected under EOE laws even if she was fired.

Oh yeah and if i was as pathetic as you i would go back and see all of your posts but i have better things to do. You obviously have no life if you've got to remember everybody's posts!!! Funny.
Also, yes, Im doing psych. Was that comment supposed to hurt me— Cos it didnt. At least Im off my arse doing something with myself instead of spending my time insulting people on the internet.
Good bye you tragic thing. I cant believe you took what i said so seriously when it was said in exasperation. You are truely oversensitive.
seeya,
ML.
Also, when you're talking about what somebody has done its "you're" not "your". Just thought Id tell you that seeing as though you think you're so smart.

I wasn't kicking Sloane when she was down; I was trying to tell her she was acting crazy and she was! The job obviously is making her a little paranoid. Sloane, as far as your last week of work goes, if you work you will get paid for it, otherwise they are in deep shit! If you don't get any hours then you will receive pay through your benefits. No company would ever sign a document promising you what you wanted them to promise you. It just doesn't happen. 210, If you were paying attention to what she has to say, or anyone for that matter, you would be able to follow along. You don't have to search for my posts just pay attention to what people say. Also, try arguing your point with intellegence and reasoning instead of ignorance and name calling,ya stupid bush whacker!

I sort of know what went down. And your right about it being time to go! What I was talking about, was your questioning me about knowing who was playing you and why and about the letter you drew up for them to sign. That's all. I know I have acted the same way when push came to shove, and sometimes it's best not to burn down the bridge; at least get something out of them...like a written recommendation.

I've had plenty of jobs that made me nuts too!

Is that who you were working for?...there in deep doo doo! Massive fraud. These companies are going like dominos! The old saying about the 'love of money' is totally appropriate here! I heard Worldcom held back information to the tune of 4 billion worth of debt!! How about all the Arthur Anderson employees...not only did they lose their jobs, they got indicted for fraud too! The whole damn company! Something needs to be done and fast! don't think I would work for a big company these days. Oh, and now Wal-Mart has a class action suit for not paying their employees over time. I say good--stick it to them! All the Martha Stewarts in the world need a wake up call; maybe a little jail time would help! Greedy pigs!!!!!!

In addition to what I have stated that I have gone through, I'll tell you all this: I will never work for a scorpio ever again. This is the third time I have worked for a female scorp and they are absolutely sheer misery to work for. I don't care what anyone says and I don't care who comes running to thier defense--I know what I know and this is the third time around--third time is the charm as the saying goes...I was treated quite badly--like a f*** second class citizen, a doormat and was "looked down upon". Need I say more? I guess perhaps if you're a cancer or a virgo, you can deal with a scorp, but I'm a libra and I've had nothing but trouble with this type. There's always always some b******* they give and what big f*** egos!!! The women I have worked with were suspicious for no good reason, vindictive, cold, egotistical, shallow, very judgemental, overly critical, MANIPULATIVE to the core! (like my last boss)....I could go on.....I don't mean to lash out ant anyone in general people, it's just that I have been REALLY hurt by this last employer and I need to vent. This is how I feel about them and I'm not going to change my mind. My brother is a scorp and I wouldn't want to even work for him. Next time, hopefully my next employer will be male and....not a scorpio.

Thank you romeclone. The reason I want to work for or with a man is because of reasons that I know or have experienced from past jobs. Men don't fly off the handle about little things on the job and they don't think with thier feelings as woemn tend to do. Also, most men don't get personal with you--like asking you personal questions--especially medical ones like my last nosy, manipulative employer did. And I can't forget this one--this REALLY gets me pissed off about women--sometimes women will play with your emotions--try to get you to answer to thier nosy questions. There are some things that should not be brought up and discussed with employees--my last boss crossed that boundry. In general, I just get along really well with men. Even friends have told me this. It's all good to me so I want my next job to be with someone of my opposite gender. There's no bull and no trouble.

Sloane,

I agree! Not only would I prefer a male boss, I prefer to work with males!
Men do not gossip or criticize others all the time! They stick to the task at hand and do not complain about every little thing! When it is a mixed crew (males and females), it goes best.

Also about Scorpio....I find them to be difficult to understand and (in general) at odds with me...

Best to you in your new quest!
