Analyzing

Hey Librans,
Have any of the rest of you had any comments made about our analyzing?
I have a Leo female roommate who gets perturbed at me for analyzing situations or other peoples motives. I don't find myself analyzing a situation unless it just doesn't jive or feel comfortable to me, then I begin this pattern of trying to figure out the truth from the fiction.
Any comments?

You are probably right to think this way, however, you're not asking too many questions with your roommate, are you? The only reason I ask is, although it's totally OK to anaylize a situation and get to the heart of someone's motive (like I like to do!), too many questions will make the other feel they're in the middle of an interrogation. I'm not pointing the finger at you at all, just throwing in a different perspective.

hi! i feel the same way about situations. there is nothing wrong with being able to think thru situations . not all signs share this remarkable ability to to do this. libras are accused being to deep (mental)because of this trait. i am a libra so i know what you are talking about. take care.

Getting back to your question, there's also the possibility that if you do ask someone a question relating to their motive and they immediately get defensive, well, there's your answer. Maybe they had something to hide. Just keep your cool at all times--you and your friends will get through nicely. Those who remain defensive with you are not your true friend.

Actually, I don't ask her questions pertaining to her or her life. She is straight forward and has always been upfront with me on all situations that we have dealt with.
But socially, I have reason to deal with a few that are not so straight forward. The ability to see both sides of the situation is a positive attribute that agitates her also. She feels that if someone is disagreeing with me that I should get angry or at least upset instead of saying "I can understand where they are coming from."
Recently I had an affair with a Taurus man who would say one thing and do another. It was as though we spoke two different languages. I was always misinterpreting what he actually was trying to get across to me. I have never experienced this miscommunication before. I would begin this analyzing mindset trying to decide if I wanted to forget the fellow or try to understand what he was really saying to me.

My Boyfriend always tells me I OVER ANALYZE EVERYTHING!! thats funny that you mentioned this topic. I'm glad I'm not the only Libra out there like this. Must be a trait of ours. By the way, my boyfriend is a Leo, & my analyzing everything & everyone drives him crazy!

then maybe you should get mad? It sounds like you may have to be more aware of who's kidding you and who's not--i know it's not easy. The Taurus guy sounded like either a real Bull......er or he didn't know what to do period--maybe he was the "lost" type. There are an awful lot of people today that haver a lot to hide--especially the guys, so if you feel the need to find thier true motives, do so. Again, if they get defensive with you--they're not worth your time.

I believe as Libra we are very emotional and receptive with our feelings. That is why I analyze. It is out of necessity. It is almost as though I need to de-code my feelings to find the answers so that I can comfortably move on. When all is smooth in the emotional department I do not feel the need to analyze a situation, person or conversation. But when the scales begin to tip it is definitely time to do something. When I was with the Taurus I felt confused because of contradictions in what he said and how he acted. I knew that love should not hurt, but I was definitely hurting and trying to be loyal to my own feelings by being loyal and supportive to him. Now, I realize he is not a bad guy, but self-centered and will always have his needs met above and beyond anyone elses. Plus, he rather likes game playing. I was serious because he said "no games" and phrases like "trust me". The analyzing showed me that he was rather like a cameleon. He reminds me of a magician who uses the art of illusion and to a degree needs to be deceiving to set the performance. Ahh-well, it was great in the beginning.
But, I must admit this is the first situation that made me realize how I analyze situations and people. Then I read that it was a libra trait.
When my roommate growled at me about it I felt as though I had infringed on someone elses space by in fact, analyzing. But it seems that is a part of the scales make-up.

I think it's a wonderful thing that you have been able to have this insight about yourself! It can take a long, long time for some people to really "discover" something about themselves. And we do find out our characteristics through other people at times. So, I think this relationship with this guy was a positive outcome--even though he was too selfish--most men are, unfortunetaly.... I think I DO know what you were saying about realizing at certain moments about the emotions one goes through and having to sort them out...this is something that I have discussed with my therapist. Just beleive that it's all good and if you ever come across another man that is the likes of the Taurus guy--then you'll know better to keep away!

The self-analysing is the one that baffles me. It is so easy to fall prey to a self-blame attitude instead of detaching and forgiving yourself, forgetting then moving on with the knowledge learned. Perhaps we all tend to believe we need to be punished when in essence we only need move on and realize we have gained more insight.

As a fellow Libran, I have a question for all of you. When you slip into your over-analyzing mode, do you think it is a reflection on your intuition that something is wrong? Like you know for sure something is wrong and you feel the need to analyze why-though say for instance, it hasn't been presented to you. Or do you ever think it's just some insecure,paranoid moment you're having?

I'm going thorugh this right now and need to know the difference. I don't know whether I'm just in a "mood" or It's legit. Why? Because I have been really cranky and depressed over something imagined. And everyone keeps telling me to chill out.

But I do this soo often where I question every tiny little thing. Oh, yes I am talking about my love life of course. hahaha

I believe we analyse when the words and the actions are not telling us the same thing. You could be right about the intuition, too. We are all very intuitive because we rely on our feelings.
When I begin to analyze my guy I know something is not up to par, because otherwise I am very contented, happy-go-lucky and in tune with the relationship. The minute I start analyzing and wanting to talk to a girlfriend about the relationship instead of him, I know something very important is missing because our communication is gone.

Whoever said that they annoy their Leo boyfriend with over-analyzing, I feel ya! The thing is, I'm not a Libra really, I'm a Scorpio with Libra rising (birthday October 25th). Are Scorpios supposed to be analytical like Libras? If so, that would explain why I'm super analytical. Just wanted to share! 🙂

Aaah it's that Libra rising that makes you analyze. Libra's feel first, then weigh as well as analyze. Our thinking processes seem to be different from other signs. I know I drive my friends to drink by the time I finally make up my mind which course of action to take.

I am a Libra and I don't seem to have that same problem; as a matter of fact, I am inclined to act and then analyze it after. I'm defintely a doer!

The second-to-last poster--LOL, I know what you're saying, I'm sure I've driven my friends to the brink of insanity with my vascillations. It's hard to make the right decision, for Pete's sake! : )...one must be as thorough as possible when deciding which course of action to take!

Me too! I thought I was a doer! Perhaps just not quite spontaneous enough.
Are you saying that you can be given three choices on a life direction and just pick one immediately and act on it? WOW, What a Libra. I can't even get to the checkstand with a purchase without going back to change the color or just plain deciding I don't want what ever I'm carrying around with me at least once or twice!

OMG, yep, it's confirmed, I'm at least 50% Libra; 50% Scorpio! People HATE shopping with me because it can easily take me 2 hours to make your average 15-minute decision. It's horrible. I don't even like to shop with myself! I usually tentatively put about eight things in my basket, start to approach the checkstand, look at what I've put in my basket and say to myself, "Do I really need that? What am I forgetting? I should check and see if this comes in a more suitable color. Better yet, I'll get this shirt in BOTH colors. Well, maybe not, because I don't *really* have the money for that. Oh well, I'll come back tommorrow and make up my mind then".

See what I'm saying? I found out my moon, ascendant and Mercury are all in Libra. The only Scorpio I have is my sun sign. My Mars is in Virgo, my Venus is in Sagittarius, and the rest I don't know! Just some useless info I thought I'd share!! : ) lol

I spent my day off with a Scorpio fellow who was a friend of a friend and was asked if I would show him around while he was on the coast.
We had some very interesting conversations. There was a Libra guy with him, and we were really enjoying the Lib talk about analyzing and other characteristics we had in common.
The Scorpio's birthday was the 6th of Nov. and he said he analyzed anything and everyone and was wondering if that was a Scorpio trait too. Perhaps he has a moon in Libra. I'll have to find out his full date of birth.

LOL!! my mother and I go out and take hours just lolly gagging and we will fill up carts and end up doing the same thing. PUTTING ALL OF IT BACK... It's really disgusting to watch us at work. We always end up laughing about it. I can defintely relate!

Sounds like other than your Sun sign which is your strongest sign and the one that defines your basic personality, that you have so much Libra hence, softening you up alot and lightens you up too.

He he, absolutely right you are! That's what me and my mom do as well--though I'm worse than she is...she's always like, oh, God, MUST I shop with you? LOL. And I make her becuase otherwise I won't be able to actually come out of the store with anything. Yep, my planets are crazy--I think it's an odd combo to have, don't you? Not that I don't like the Libra in me or the Scorpio in me, it's just a rather difficult mixture of two very different signs.

To the second-to-last-poster: that is very interesting; come back and let me know what his planetary influences are; I'm curious too! : )
