the webmaster could get a flash chat script relatively cheaply and integrate it but given the homepage probably hasn't changed in ages, i doubt if he/she cares.
anyhoo, old skool IRC from back in the day is a quick and easy fix.
this should allow for simultaneous connects and shouldn't require registration...at least i don't think so.
you should only be prompted to enter a username which hopefully will be your dxpnet id as well.
