interesting method, or you could do what my parent did with me, give up and assume they will never succeed in anything, so that way the children have no other choice but to succeed in order to prove the parents wrong... GGGRRRRR!!!

Err, well, I had a hard time learning to read, I always got hung up on how c was a usless letter becuase we have k and s. But once I did learn, I always tried to read the more challenging stuff, just to make up for my past retardedness. Of course, I still couldn't spell anything... Come to think of it, I still can't, but whatever.

Morganofmind, I'm proud of you for proving your parents wrong. That's awesome (and, pretty much what life's all about. lol, just kidding)! I can see what you mean about 'c' being useless. Good point, I never thought of that before. Spelling, well, that's something I used to excel at, but it doesn't show in any of my posts because I'm usually in a hurry and sometimes forget to throroughly edit them.

About learning to read (haha, this is funny)...my dad and I would have serious speed reading contests between each other when I was little, so I guess I mainly learned from that element of competition. And of course, my parents read to/with me a lot. I finally got to the point where I could read faster than them, and then I actually enjoyed it. It's fun to read; it's fun to win. lol 😛
