I've noticed a trend in movies and video games where there's a rumored "Curse of Threequels". In movies it seems that the third movie in a trilogy or any form of a ology seems to be the least liked or worst movie in the series. While in Video games the second entry or the sequel seems to be the worst entry while the Third entry in the series (games such as- MGS3, Super Mario Bros 3, Halo 3, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Deus Ex 3, GTA 3, Gran Turismo 3, Strider 3 the rebooted one, Doom 3, Persona 3 even Diablo 3) has been regarded as the best entry in the entire series. I don't get it. What is it with the Threequels in video games being so successful. Why couldn't the second be as successful. Especially when it came to Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.
