I thought this was about Buddy the Cake Boss lol. I heard that he is going through some hard times. His mother is dying, one contestant from his baking competition show committed suicide after being eliminated & his brother in-law was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor. The brother in-law features on the show too, so now Buddy's show is at risk. I love Buddy lol...typical childish aries.

Which Buddy are you talking about, MrF?

Buddy Holly.

Like many others, his music was a big influence on me when I was young.

Tomorrow, February 3rd 2014, marks the 55th anniversary of that tragic day when Buddy, Ritchie, "The Big Bopper" J.P Richardson and the pilot Roger Peterson lost their lives in a plane crash.

Buddy Holly and the Crickets were very influential on The Beatles

Buddy's death enrages me. A lot like John Lennon's. Can you imagine the additional art they could have created if they'd survived longer?

Yeah, I've spent many a long hour imagining what they may have accomplished.

"Someone once asked me where I thought music would've taken Buddy.

I said 'you're asking the wrong question.

Where was Buddy gonna take music ?"

Waylon Jennings

I think of Richie Valens, that was also one impressive talent! A real shooting star, as it were.
Only 8 months of his music brought to light and he was gone.
All one can think of is "Wow!" Destiny isn't always polite.

Fender Guitar still makes the Stratocaster electric guitar like the one that Buddy played.
That guitar was popularized by Buddy through his influence on the new up and coming acts that followed him.
It's very probable his popularity in the early days not only launched it's popularity, but kept that model guitar going after 50 years.
I am blessed to own one like it, albeit a black and white like Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.

Where would Buddy have taken the music—?
