As in bittersweet- Victory was achieved, but not without great sacrifice of many people who are either dead or physically or mentally damaged. Can comparable to a Kill em all or They're all dead Dave ending. Which the two implies that half the respective cast died or everyone died. I think bittersweet endings are a bit more realistic compared to everyone being all happy and cheery at the end of a movie or book. The best/saddest bittersweet endings I've ever saw was- End of Evangelion, Spider-man 3, Digimon Tamers, and Modern Warfare 3. Everyone basically died in Modern Warfare 3 except for Captain Price (Sorry for the spoiler). End of Evangelion was good, but it was really open to interpretation compared to the other three which were more closed in nature. What do you think?
