Have Americans alienated the rest of the world?

In their arrogance,theye believe we are the 'defenders of the Earth', able to invade on a whim for 'the good of the world and its peace', yet in doing so merely prove themselves no different to conquerors and dictators of yesteryear.

Europe have become severely dissallusioned with them, and their friends are now few. Even with the USA being so strong and powerful as they are, where does their future lie with no-one to support them, and a string of incompetent presidents?

Shame that a country so great and so proud can be reduced to that. With Europe aiming to become a superstate, greater than America in size and power, and the hatred of America running strong in the Eastern world, does the USA have a long-term future?

Yes, the US has a long term future. And who really knows what the future holds?

At this moment in time the USA is the worlds superpower through economics not military might. Whether this changes or not would depend on many factors and circumstances, none which are terribly foreseeable at this point in time.

It may have been better on the Politics board but i believe that the segregation of the boards has led this site to overall quiten down. Anyway, regardless, does it really matter which board it is on if it is a relevant topic? 'We' may have 'exhausted this topic', but obviously it is still relevant to somebody out there. Besides, i don't believe it is 'exhausted' and that it can ever be. It is world politics we are talking about so it is always going to be relevant to us.

I believe, as i have stated here before, that Bush is not only incompetent, but a manipulater and an irrational man at least. The tactics that he uses are aimed at instilling fear into the masses and i believe this is wrong. What i have never understood about war is why the leaders don't keep it contained among themselves? If the leaders 'hate' each other so much why don't they stand in a room and pop EACH OTHER off instead of dragging innocent victims into their battles. Killing is wrong unless in self-defence of a direct threat on one's life. It says to in the bible. Oh but that's right, Bush is a religious man isn't he.

Merely watching him stumble and stutter through his auto-cues in his major speeches, and seeing him in interviews dispaying no more intelligence than a chimp with down syndrome is enough to dishearten anybody.

America hasn't had a string of incompetent presidents I agree, I actually liked Clinton despite his Monica fellatio antics (Hey i've got nothing against that either...), but to see a country so big and powerful run by a texan hick (Bush) who is just creating ill-will towards Americans around the world is quite sad.

Of course America has a future ahead of it, but if it continues along the lines as it is today, with it's bully-boy tactics, it will become a target for terrorist groups and rogue states for years to come.

I like Americans, I just don't like their government...

When in england,I have ties there 3 daughters and a x wife. We must hang in very different pubs. most of the english I talk with say they are a part of england or the U.K. austriala, new zeland, canada, and america. they feel closer to us than europe. They tell me they feel that europe is being forced down there throat. As of this morning you still had the pound. I remember the good old days of the shilling. also what about england and north irsland why stay? I myself woul;d pull out of the rest of the world and feed our own starving childern we spend all kinds of money on forgin aid to people who hate us I say treetrunk em cut off all forgin aid.

O.K. 13 I never forget the scotts Sweet P, I have had many a good time there, I spent a winter in the Hebrides Isles, the outer Isles. I got attached to a fine lass who introduced me to La Phrough, spelled wrong, whisky. God I have fond memorys of port Stornoway. OH well a long time ago.

If I live till then I may go over and spend the summer on the whisky trial. are just roaming about. Pete has always offered me the use of and old Raily he has, I might come and go up through scotland back down to wales to holyhead and over to Dublin. My grandfather was a taylor welsh, my mother was french. on the outher side english and scot.
