Good god! This anime was violent and brutal and straight up horrifying /: A woman pulled out her own damn fingernails with a I don't what the fuck it was, but holly hell I had to hold back a bit from vomiting. It was nothing compared to Genocyber it terms of violence and overall horror factor because it felt less in your face and more under your skin. But damn, I loved it. A big shocker and wasn't as violent as Elfen Lied which felt plain sensless. But overall, I was in for a scare. 8.5 out of 10. I recommend it to anyone who likes horror in anime and a bit of shock to fly along with it. Because when I first watched it I expected something a little happy and cheery like when I first watched Evangelion. But this shit was like "Oh, oh damn, Oh god! Well that ruined my appetite and that made my fingers hurt". But still great in a lot of ways. Would get more in depth, but I'd spoil so yeah......

Did you watch all of the Higurashi series or just the first one that was released? It's been a long while since I've watched this but I don't think much is explained in the first series but things get clearer after watching the others. I enjoyed watching it despite being mostly confused, though. It was unique for it's time. My favorite character was Keiichi. I liked that they included more of his backstory near the end. That was unexpected.

Yeah I watched all. It was a shocker. But my favorite character was probably Shion.
