I heard a ton of good things about the first episode, but the second just sounds like your typical reality show trash with some of the shenanigans going on. For a community trying to raise awareness and get respect, hanging bare asses out the back of a bus window isn't going to do it.

I finally watched a few episodes of the Kardashians out of morbid curiosity since it was on Hulu. Just to see the hype.

Eh. Just more mindless, reality TV.

I had friends who were on a reality show and have heard first hand what really goes on behind he scenes. Bunch of crap as per usual.

I gotta say though, the one thing that I find really strange, and also a good example of where our society stands on gender overall, is that Chaz Bono is also another "celebrity" presence who is transgendered. I don't remember him getting this much PR. If anything, it seems as if it was shrugged off and swept under the rug after the initial news broke.

A female identifying as male.

Yet, when we have a male who identifies as female, the world freaks the fuck out. As if there's something wrong with a man feeling as if he's a woman, but a woman feeling as if she's a man is not a big deal.

Why is this? Is our society that freaking sexist that one is perceived as stranger or lesser than the other? Omg a guy wants to potentially swap his dick out for a vagina? BLASPHEMY?

I mean it's apparent that some guys freak the hell out because they see it as an insult to male sexuality that a guy would want to give that up for female. They see female sexuality lesser than theirs. (you ____ like a girl" insult anyone?)

I'd like to know why this memo of being female is still perpetuated as a bad or lesser status in our society is still going around despite all the social movements.

Overall, it just seems as if there's too much grunting and unecessary sense of threat to personal self in regard to an issue that has no bearing on them personally. I just think that this situation speaks a lot about how our society really is in regard to male vs female.

Tbh, people need to just calm the fuck down. Transgendered people are just doing their thing and it has ZERO negative effect on anyone else around them. "OMG HE WANTS TO BE A SHE/SHE WANTS TO BE A HE" bullshit. Who fucking cares? It's not harming you personally in any way, shape, or form, so all the negative uproar is just people being assholes about something they refuse to understand.

Eeeh it gets very iffy and complicated with this transgender stuff.. lets say a a man who now associates as a woman is convicted of a crime and goes to prison where should he/she be put?
On the reverse end a woman who now identifies as a man also convicted goes to prison where should she/he be put?
Mind you this dilemma has been going on for sometime I dont know what the original protocol has been. But I imagine its been a strain on how to properly protect them from incidents.. wouldnt be surprised if there are tons of case files...
on a similar story I know someone who works at a detox center and a man comes in regularly claims to be a woman and by law he is placed in the women's area.. now whats going to happen when other men get the idea "hey I can claim to be a woman get in the women's area pussy all around". This stuff is barely being talked about in the open but no one wants to step on anybodys toes... pretty easy to catch a lawsuit nowdays..
