Nuclear War

I haven't had time to follow the news lately the way I'd like to, but I caught a "news alert" today that mentioned something about the discovery that north korea has a ballistic nuclear missile capable of reaching the west coast of the united states...that sucks, since I live on the west coast...well, me and a bazillion other people, but you see what I mean.

Does anyone who's really up on the news have any additional info (in plain English please, none of that fancy-shmancy legalese stuff) about this situation?

I'd like to know:

1) What's their problem?
2) Would they, knowing the likely retaliatory consequences of hitting us with a nuclear missile, actually do that?
3) How many people/how much land is destroyed from a nuclear missile? And if you're not in the direct area where it hits, can you still be affected? How?

Ok with North Korea, I'll tell you what I know and then I'll tell you some speculation. We have been giving N. Korea money as relief to the masses of starving and heatless (word?) during the winter times with the sondition the Korea doesn't use the money for building nuclear arms. We, it seems, have known all along that they haven't been using the money for what we wanted but kept giving them the money because (i think though correct me if am wrong) we get a lot of oil for North Korea. Oil, by the way, which could be heating the homes of the heatless and starving. The speculation the North Korea will attack us, i think, is wrong and I don't know of any reasons that N Korea would want to hurt us that badly that quickly.

As for nuclear weapons, if you are not in the direct area of the hit then hope to be to the east of it so that the westerly wind will push it away. It all depends upon the weather as to whether or not you'll get anything. It wouldn't destroy Oregon unless thats the way the wind blows.

LOL @ Parallax's last post. Yeah, I've heard they track you when you search on stuff like that, but forgot about it until you just now mentioned it (thanks for putting your neck out for me like that; I will definitely bail you out of San Quentin or perhaps smuggle you in some escaping tools. lol. I know people who know people 😉

Hmmm...thank you very much Gwendylyn and Parallax. A lot of disturbing stuff to ponder. So...that would completely suck ass if they actually hit us with a nuke. Which is needless to say of course. I do wonder what the point would be...where's the logic? All they could achieve would be mass murder and enraging the surviving americans into a fury twenty times as ferocious as the war on terror thing.
