What's your opinion? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Do you know what it is?

Personally, the only reason I like it is because the day after you can by a bag of chocoate for 33 cents... Ten dollars will get you a two month supply!!!

V-day is okay. I imagine I would be depressed if I were single, not that anyone should be, but that's just me. When not single on V-day, I feel there's too much pressure surrounding the day. There's just too much pressure. lol.

That's my opinion.

The candy is nice. Actually my favorite things are those chocolate-covered cherries ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S...guys are hard to shop for on V-day. It's such a feminine-oriented holiday!

Yes, it is a female-oriented holiday! Haven't you heard the joke about the new male-oriented holiday in March? The "Steak and BJ Day" for men...this is too ensure a successfull Valentine's Day for women as men know that 'their' day is coming!

Seriously, I have never been big on the Valentine's Day stuff...chocolate and flowers are nice...but, nothing like making a guy feel like he has too!! (Make a frickin' holiday that makes him seem like an a $ $ if he doesn't!)

Vday to me is being romanced. Not so much about gift giving but the actions your partner carries out to make the day somewhat special and memorable (ending of course in a good sexual romp). I think it is a good day so long time partners can 'remember' the good things about the relationship and to focus on reasons you came together in the first place. Those things should occur everyday but unfortunately life seems to get in the way and so much goes by the sidelines. Vday should occur from both sides (gender neutral). I think a woman can be just as romantic...as Star says, a steak dinner with candles and a beer waiting on the table for when your partner comes home would be considered the ants pants by men.

Vday to me is hiding under my blankits and sleeping all day, which is exactly what I intend to do this year as well - wouldn't want to break tradition. Pluss we don't have school this year, so I don't have to get out of bed ALL DAY!!!!

echo on the pressure thing. As the days pass toward V-Day, the pressures, hopes, jealousy, envy, hate, despair, and just about any other emotion wells up in the not-so-lucky ones.

Actually, I think VDay was made so that there would be a candy-holiday almost every month.

LOL april - too true - don't see the point of taking any holiday too seriously - so much of a stigma attached to what you should do/feel that it becomes a painful experience.

oh, jackbutter. I'm just stopping through and then I have to go for a couple hours (but will definitely be back later)--but anyway, take heart--valentine's day is annoying even when you're not "all alone". sometimes it is worse being technically not alone, but feeling all alone.

oh, and twinkee--at least your bf ended up getting you stuff. Mine called me after he got off work and told me he hasn't had time or money to get me anything. I spent a pretty good chunk of $ $ on him too. I said, "i'll call you later". so i'm giving him a couple hours to come through in some way. he's done things like this on my birthday, too. how depressing
