I was chosen by a Pine and Dragon Heartstring wand that was 12 3/4 inches long and supple (meaning it isn't stubborn and will comply amiably).
The site even tells me the properties of all the magical woods and cores that Olivander utilizes.
Pine The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells. Many wandmakers insist that pine wands are able to detect, and perform best for, owners who are destined for long lives, and I can confirm this in as much as I have never personally known the master of a pine wand to die young. The pine wand is one of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.
Dragon As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.
The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.
http://www.wizardwands.net/cart/edit.asp?p=299216>I want my wand to take this shape. But with Panderosa Pine wood of course and Black Walnut for the handle with dragon scales engraved on it because I love its properties and it'll contrast nicely with the light pine.
It seems you can even choose to have your zodiac sign engraved on it. I'm definitely doing that.
Theres a drop menu the cores but I don't know if they'll actually hollow it out and put something in the wood.
