Prove me wrong, the chinese spy balloon is a bad sign

So for some reason, the us is not taking swift action they let TWO surveillance balloons fly over their territory. We have seen

too many unlikely doomsday scenarios come true, lika a pandemic, a crazy president, ukraine. Maybe China escalates

the confrontation with the US if this goes unchecked. The pandemic, trump and ukraine started small in a nondramatic way.

So unless the balloon is shot down, maybe china gets the confidence to do something drastic like invade taiwan,

asks the us to pay their debt, pulls the plug on everything china owned in the us.

Am i overreacting?

Oh they waited until they wouldnt put civilians in harms way. Makes sense. The russian navy is flexing driving close to us destroyers and now china sends balloons. Thats a new one.

I think its all propaganda. What exactly could a balloon do to "spy" that satellite GPS hasn't already been doing much more efficiently for the last 10+ years? Also China owns tiktok, so why would they even need to send something like a balloon to spy on America? Having control over apps, social media, and gathering data from internet is more efficient. Wtf is a balloon going to honestly do? It's not even like it was a drone or something. I feel there are only 2 possible scenarios

1. it's more or less some random weather balloon China actually lost accidentally, and the media has 100% blew it out of proportion like always.

2 is pure propaganda by our own media or government to get people upset.

And why do they want to upset people? What would they get out of it?

If it were a real threat I feel like the media wouldn’t report it. However I don’t see how the media put it out there just to get ppl upset. Maybe it’s to distract from something else that’s happening. Idk exactly but I don’t believe the media puts out things just because they get high off of making ppl angry.

Upsetting people and hysteria gets more views. More views equals more commercial/ ad revenue. It's all about money in the grand scheme. Click bait gets the most views, which in turn makes more money.

I do not know why this topic makes me think about Cappadocia.

I don't watch the news.
