Does anybody here practice religious rites as some form of therapy? Praying, meditating, reflecting and listening to the sermons of the priest, rabbi or whatnot?

I just attended a mass an hour ago and I never felt this good in a long time. I may not always agree with Catholic teachings (I have some reservations) but the many lessons I learn from listening make me attend masses every Sunday. Indeed, my relations with other people have gotten better since September 2013, the month I started going to church regularly. 🙂

Yes, I still have some reservations (I don't want to compel myself to accept everything I hear; I should believe and be convinced first) but the more I listen, the more I am convinced of God's love for me and all of us.

This thread is about religion as therapy; let us avoid discussions on our disagreements in our beliefs.

Best lesson I learned:

* Let God and Christ be the center of your life... and you can never go wrong.

I am a Leo Moon so it was hard for me to play second fiddle... I wanted to be the best, the brightest, the center of everything... didn't I know then that it's much better to just blend in the background. Now I am happier and more content than ever before. What an awesome change from what I was!
