Standardized Testing

fair or unfair?

Sucks and is a waste of time. Everything should be based upon past work when you had time to earn what you have coming to you. People studdy hard for standardized tests while flunking the rest of their studies. Then others are just bad test takers...

Hmmm...I think standardized tests are okay, but I also think that too much emphasis is placed upon them. For the same reasons morgan just mentioned pretty much. But, I do see the benefits of them. I think that there should be more emphasis placed on past work, other types of tests and pretty much all the other periphory criterion that educators could use to determine the progress/ability of students.
