Excuse me for posting this. I know some of you are recently enraged by the recent happenings in the US, particularly on police brutality and racism.

But this post is on the lighter side of things. Please don't take this seriously. I just want to know more about WASP Families and whatever things I may learn from them. I'm just curious... so please excuse my curiosity.

Anyway, my questions are the following:

(1) where are they concentrated?

(2) why are they often made a central theme in various movies (e.g. Meet the Parents)?

(3) do the following movies portray WASP Families too:

(a) Jumanji

(b) Addams' Family

Sorry for my eager curiosity.

Because they represent a majority in the United States.

Movies are produced to make money.

Your product or service should match the demand if you want to sell it.

If you want to sell it to the majority, it has to match the demand of the majority.

It's basic economics.
It's the majority? Ok, I don't know the demographics of the US now.

I'm kind of surprised. Yes, I know the white population comprises the majority of the people in the US but there are many different kinds of White in the US, right? Not just Anglo-Saxons?

It may or msy not be an official majority but most white people can identify with the premise or the characters.

It's the same with McDonald's commercials. McD's has shifted its marketing towards the lower income brackets, which are mostly minorities. The commercials reflect that majority...most actors are either Hispanic or black outright. Or, they've also been using ethnically ambiguous actors that you're not really sure what they are.

I tried google. No help.

What is a WASP family?
White Anglo Saxon Protestant
Do you belong to a WASP Family, Prince Pisces?
I have no idea LOL! There's so many definitions on what it is. I have been called one though, but I think the person thought it was just a slur towards white people?

Lol. I didn't imagine that it is!

No. Whites are the majority.

But among minorities, Hispanics have surpassed blacks.

California , New York maimi

The diversity is not common in Midwest

I'd be scared to do a road trip out there

Geographic distribution is irrelevant in this case since the movies are not location specific.

If your goal is to make as much money as possible from say Cuban Americans, providing goods or services to the Miami area would be a sound business tactic.

Starting that same firm in Suburban Minneapolis is not.
