I've been meaning to make this topic for ages, but I'm finally doing it now.

What are some facts about you that us DXP members don't know about? Let's know a little more about you.

I'll start:

1. I have 8 piercings, and most of them are over a year or two old. That number is going to increase, though.
2. I'm obsessed with nail polish and painting my nails. Seriously. My nails are never not painted.
3. I was born in Turkey.
4. I'm terrified of cockroaches and large flying insects. This includes moths (especially), butterflies, and dragonflies.
5. My love for cats is borderline obsession. I will be a cat lady whether I'm married or not.
6. I didn't become interested in astrology until I realized that my boyfriend (at the time) really matched the description of his sign(Sagittarius). This was 4 years ago.
7. I am afraid of small, dark spaces (like closets and coffins).

i have this same fear! especially of moths. i've posted about it before but can't be bothered to find it atm.

other facts...
i hyperventilate when i have to go through tunnels. any tunnel, big or small. yes including the holland tunnel.
i'm an animal rights advocate who thinks PETA is nuts most of the time.
i hold a bachelor's degree with honors in psychology.
i actually enjoy some terrible reality TV, including the various Real Housewives series on bravo.
i also have a soft spot for terrible pop music if it's catchy.
i currently assist adults with severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia and major depression, in obtaining the skills and resources to live independently.
i own two dogs, and wish i could own cats too, but my lease doesn't allow it. 😢
i think i may have found "the one"......but i sometimes still wonder if one of my exes was a better match, though i would never rekindle that relationship.
i have been diagnosed with severe anxiety (psychiatric disorder - genetic roots), but i do not take any medication to manage it. CBT allows me to keep it under control the majority of the time.

"Cognitive behavioral therapy (or cognitive behavioral therapies or CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach, a talking therapy, that aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and cognitions through a goal-oriented, systematic procedure. The title is used in diverse ways to designate behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, and to refer to therapy based upon a combination of basic behavioral and cognitive research.[1]"
"CBT has been shown to be effective in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, and possibly more effective than pharmacological treatments in the long term.[37] In fact, one study of patients undergoing benzodiazepine withdrawal who had a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder showed that those who received CBT had a very high success rate of discontinuing benzodiazepines compared to those who did not receive CBT. This success rate was maintained at 12-month follow up. Furthermore in patients who had discontinued benzodiazepines it was found that they no longer met the diagnosis of general anxiety disorder and that patients no longer meeting the diagnosis of general anxiety disorder was higher in the group who received CBT."

just a little blurb about it from wikipedia.
