Why would you say something like that if you didn't mean it? While I love jokes, I don't get a joking context from what you said. (Maybe I had to be there)

We all make mistakes in communications, especially since there are a variety of communication styles. I don't know what sign you are but you don't cross me as one of the "introverted" ones by the reading of your post. There's not really enough info in what you said for me to make a well balanced judgment on it, but if you have no intentions its best you clearly maybe not jokingly communicate that.

I haven't said anywhere that I was going to drop him at all. Realize the 'Gaaaaaaahhh' there in my first post? Of course, I see the miscommunication, and just wanted to know if he'd be cool with me returning his gift after explaining.

He wasn't, actually. But he was willing to trash things out, and we talked it through.

Wishing someone ill will not solve any problems.
