Opinions On Scorpios

I asked this question on the Libra board and it sparked a very interesting/long-running thread: What do you think of Scorpios? Be honest and don't hold back! I'm a Scorpio woman who has had very little interaction with Pisceans--however I have had one Pisces female friend and I've dated one Pisces male.

Overall good experiences with both; with the guy it was too much intensity between us, but not in a bad way, just very strong opinions and personalities that didn't quite mesh. With the girl, I never felt she was really "present" in the friendship, so I drifted away from her.

Scorpios are only good if they are on your side, otherwise, you are just another thing in life for them to manipulate and conquer. A Scorpio's life is about being on a power-trip, that's all there is. They need only a small army on their side, and not even because they really care about any other people, but because they like to be amused. Putting others down makes them feel great, unfortunately.

My son is a scorpio, and being his mother I guess I see the softer side, although I have seen him when he is expressing himself and having trouble to be harsh at times. I also dated a scorpio, a very passionate man. But he couldn't keep his focus on any one person, or maybe he had more interests than he was capable of handling, without being discreet. He acted and didn't realize that he was obvious to everyone .. even his thoughts.

WELL,I WILL HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE 2ND COMMENT. SEE, SCORPIOS ARE GO GETTERS IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. AND IF THAT MEANS YOU HAVE A MATE THAT THEY ARE INTERSTED IN THEY WILL GO AFTER HIM. I HAD A ROOMMATE THAT WAS A FULL FLEDGE SCORP, AND SHE WAS A NASTY FREAK. SHE GOT IT ON WITH WHOM EVER WHEN EVER JUST TO GET A KICK OUT OF BEING A FREAK. ALMOST EXHIBITONIST LIKE. BUT WHATEVER TOOTS YOUR HORN- JUST STAY REAL TO THE ONES THAT ARE REAL TO YOU.

I have two Scorpio friends and I find them very secretive. However they seem to get a kick out of it when I let them know that I know what they are up to, we end up grinning slyly at each other - as long as it is not in front of anyone else which blows their cover. I would not consider either them close friends, I always feel they are holding something back.

and - THE SCHEMING VIXEN WHO NICKED MY BOYFRIEND WAS A SCORPIO AND I NEVER SAW IT COMING. I knew her for 3 yrs as one of his 'mates' and to this day couldn't tell you what she was like other than that she seemed pleasant and nice. When it happened I felt like a complete fool and that she had somehow targeted him without me noticing. It hit me that she had a sexuality that she could focus on who she wanted without seeming slutty. Actually I've seen my female scorpio friend do that - give a man a sizzling look across a room whilst talking to someone else. Also I know she is REALLY into sex (I once shared a house with her boyfriend) but never know who she is getting it from.

Well you guys, it is very interesting to see your comments about us! There are definitely those of us who go from one extreme to another--and it seems sex ends up being that extreme most of the time. I am very sorry to hear about the disloyal scorp friends...inexcusable. Yes, we can be very secretive. I'm a firm believer that being born a scorpio doesn't automatically make us more prone to evil stuff like that, and that what we scorps need to seriously realize is that everything we put out will come back to us, so we need to control our obsession with illicit affairs and things like that.

Hi there! Well I have to say that alot of my experiences with Scorpios havent been that Great. Probably to so with the fact that Im a Leo. We do have personality clashes. My father is a Scorpio. When we get on, we really get on, basically theres no stopping us. But when we disagree, all hell breaks loose!!! Its world war 3, or may be thats 300!!!!We are both stubborn, have strong personalties, Like to be in control and very determined. We never back down. He can be very mean (probably because hes being cruel to be kind)and often manipulative. But Now Ive come to realise beneath all this secrecy etc. He can smell danger, literally 'see' through people and will always gives me his honest opinion. Often I dont like it but I can be assured that it'll be the truth. Scorpios may be mean, mean, mean, but just think how mean, mean, mean they would be to the person who hurts their loved ones!!!!!

True, we are very protective of any loved ones, which usually includes friends (but few, as we know our intense energy is valuable and therefore can't be expended on just anyone). I for one, will always defend those close to me, as passionately as necessary...even more so if I know they would do the same for me. And yes, we can have very very sharp tongues but the more evolved Scorpios acknowledge this and make a concerted effort to control it if we can. Sometimes we do lash out with a fury however.

Interesting question but may I add that your stars are a guide to preferances and ideals in life as I'm sure you're aware. The trick is to consult those stars and find where your faults may lie...realise them and work on them to be a better person within society and yourself.

My father is a Scorp...a deeply compassionate loving man who will go to any length for his family...I love him dearly. Family scorps are just that...loving and careing but anywhere outside of that scope their bad traits seem to shine through as bright as spring mornings sunrise.

As mentioned above scorps seem to light up and revel in being unashamedly caught out, where other signs may blush and cringe with embarrasment Scorps grin and giggle with excietment in being caught.
My guess is that's because their VERY astute minds retain a feeling of power and a feeling of being on top of it all through knowing they have much, much more still going on behind the scenes as they always do but that we still don't know about...kinda like yeah so what...you know about "X" I've done but you still have no idea about "Y" or "Z"...Ha.

My flat mate is a Scorp and we were at bording school together so I've lived with him for about eight years now and I echo the sentiments above...while he is great fun and we party hard together I always take him with a pinch of salt through a feeling that he gives on only as much as he deems fit...he loves the power game...but man oh man does he hate to be proved wrong...

A few words/phrases I'd use to describe or relate to Scorps...

Quests...sex...mind over matter...the hard way...spiritual...revenge...bright...funlovers...naughty but nice...more than meets the eye.

I love scorpio's eyes cuz u can definetley see the intensity when they look at you.
They have this magnetic personality that just makes everyone (girls + guys) flock around them
like pigeons. I had a ex-bf where everywhere we went, someone was always staring at him
in either awe or intimidation wise. Its like everyone could feel his power and intensity.
But he was a control freak and very manipulative and argumentative but those times
when he was sweet were beautiful and i will never forget them. BUT he was a MAJOR
flirt and was always giving girls they eye. I ve gotten that look before and it like
hook, like and sinker. They have a way of communication through their eyes.

Also, its good not to show a scorpio that ur scared of him/her
because they will use that to their advantage.

Okay durrie, you have us pretty well figured out (hehe, but you STILL don't know about X, Y, and Z...LOL! just kidding)...I found your post to be particularly interesting because of the way you ended it (loved the "key words" thing, and quyite accurate for most of us I would say).

I have a lil opinion about the "quests" aspect of scorps...it can also be applied to the often referenced "challeng seeking/loving" nature that we have: I think it has something to do with being dually ruled by Mars (god of War) and Pluto (the underworld/unseen forces/the dark side/emotional challenges). Just my opinion.

Durrie thanks also for the compliment about our "very astute minds". The power element you are talking about--you know I never before even thought of it that way, I just thought we were mischievous and secretive and liked being so, but that makes a lot of sense (what you said) if you think about the REAL reasons for our behavior with regards to our delight in getting "caught"...lol.

There's the "eyes" reference again! ; ) Your second post is exactly right by the way, though I am aware of the possiblity of taking advantage of others and try never, never to do it. For example I've actually had people tell me in my everday life "you don't have to be so freaking polite to me all the time, if you want something just ask for it". LOL. Alrighty then.

Wow! Durrie you sure did nail it. You have a great understanding. I thought the descriptions were great!!!! That is from being reared by one! I have a Scorpion father b-day is Halloween! If it wasn't for being raised by one I would be clueless, I would be like everyone else on the board seeking answers.

Probably the most interesting people I have ever known. One thing they do have is COMPASSION for people who are suffering!

I have known Scorpion men that can lead double and triple live, and all the while keeping their cool. Even if they are committed they always keep part of themselves a secret!

I just wanted to echo your centiment of how much compassion they have for people who are suffering...that is very true also pretty good animal lovers.

It intrigues me too! I love to watch Animal Planet(TV show). Animals are so smart, intuitive. They are telepathic, and can speak to us with there eyes and body language, especially horses they are incredibly telepathic. I have three dogs and some probates(strays) that know where to find a meal when they need one; and I must say, I enjoy their company sometimes more than humans!!! They are always so happy to see me even if I have only been gone 5 minutes; they act like its been years since we last saw one another!! I have three dogs that are with me constantly when I am at home. If I get up to go to another room in the house, they'll get up and go with me. They are so loving and kind and helpful. I guess that is why they are refered to as man's best friend. They truly are! My mom& dad love animals too and theirs are just a spoiled as mine, my mother was like the neighborhood vet when we were little. We had more sick and rehabilitated animals around the house and growing up around it was a joy! I learned so much from it! They give alot of happiness and laughter. I love being outside and messing around.

Well, it's pouring down rain here and dark outside, unusually cool too, so I will have to find something to do inside today. Good day to make soup or maybe some bread!

Speaking of Scorp traits, I would also say that they can disappear for a period of time, but that doesn't mean they aren't thinking of you! I do it and so does my dad. Sometimes we don't talk for days but we seem to be able to sense when we need to. We are close but we both like our privacy!

u alot about all sorts of things. but they only thing they need is anger management...!

Let me tell you about my experience with scorps. My daughter(pieces) best friend was a scorp, she was so jeolouse of her and always doing something to hurt her mentally. Now my daughter is involved with a guy that is a scorp and he is always hurting her also mentally. Someone once told me that scorps are the devil in disguise.

I think, though, to a degree your daughter needs to become strong enough not to allow herself to get into relationships (male or female) with unhealthy people like that. She has to take some responsibility for allowing herself to be involved with people who feel powerful by controlling her.

Most people, especially Scorpios will take advantage of you if you allow them to or if they sense your weaknesses.

Hmmm...yes I would agree. The lowest of my sign will hone in on the insecure, or the seemingly insecure or weak-willed. Rest assured that not all of us do that, not if we are more mature at least. I am concerned that your daughter is developing a behavioral pattern in relationships that probably has less to do with astrology than with her fatal attraction to those who hurt her, it is as if she derives pleasure from pain. Have you talked to her about maybe why she is attracted to these types of people?

I have been dating a male Scorp for about three weeks and we deiced to take things really slow and we really like each other alot, so it is kind of hard to take it slow, but we're doing it. I am a little apprehensive about being hurt by him because I have been hurt before by my ex Cap boyfriend hurt me very deeply. But we are very atracted to each other. What should my next step be with him to show him that I want to be with him?

Barbarella, I take it you're a Pisces? Well my next question to you is, what do you mean by "be" with him? Sexually or do you mean generally, in a serious relationship? Or do you mean you want to prove to him that taking it slow doesn't mean you don't want him?
