That's funny .. it wasn't suppose to be, I guess .. but, it was to me.
It would be hard to give an example of this .. for everybody's reality is different, constantly morphing .. so it's just a matter of getting people to realize that theirs that they are experiencing in the moment isn't the only one, nor is it fixed.
This quote feels very piscean ..may as well put it here.. =)
"The imaginary friends I had as a kid dropped me because their friends thought I didn't exist." ~Aaron Machado
LOL ..
yes, i would say as a pisces, i can cheer someone out of the doldrums of everyday life and reality, if that's what they want. Or at least help them see a different perspective on things..
Reality is what it is. Your attitude about it can be different. You can imagine your surroundings are different, and if it motivates you to change, all the better.
Not so much. If everybody has (and is entitled to) their own unique perspective, which one is right? Absolute truth does not exist because for every entity, its composition, origin, and function is disputable.
"Whether you think you can, or can't, you are right."
This quote seems somewhat out of context with respect to the topic of discussion. I'd imagine Ford was referring to the concept of internal motivation and the lack thereof.
Reality: I live in a small studio apartment and kind of dislike my decent paying, but boring job. I've broken up with a LT girlfriend, and I'm okay with being single.
Attitude: I'm okay with situation. It's better than a lot of people's, and other things in my life are great. Overall, I'm content and pleased.
Fantasy: I dream I have a great job and live in a penthouse apartment. My current female partner is some hot babe who drools all over me.
Motivation: While I'm okay with certain things, there is a delta between my reality and my fantasy. Maybe I'll better myself in some way.
These are four completely different dimensions which may co-exist in your mind. There is reality, and your attitude about it. If positive, your attitude can make your reality feel better.
Fantasy is what is not true, but what you wish was. It doesn't dispel reality. You can use motivation to change reality based on your fantasy, but it doesn't change the facts of your reality. Nor does it change your attitude about that reality, which is also valid. But it doesn't change reality - i.e., the facts of your existence.
Reality is that you lost your girlfriend and are bored with your job.
Ever notice that you knock people out of reality?
Like everytime I am stuck in some sort of reality, it is always the Pisces that comes around outta NOWHERE... and entrances me into their world.
I say that is an awesome gift!
Anyone got stories of this great phenomenon?
