I went to see Shrek the Third last night. Parts of it were hillarious. Merlin the Magic teacher is a hoot! It was better than I'd expected because the reviews weren't very good.
Spiderman 3 might be something to see these school holidays... which just started today. My uni student daughter has decided to hang around for a bit too... there's more food in my cupboards than in hers. Hahaha
I went to see 1408 (Stephen King) tonight. It was ok, not one of his scarier movies; but imo, not many movies can rival the chill factor of Children of the Corn. It did start me thinking though, mid-way through the movie, why don't the main protagonists ever die in movies? How would directors end the movie if they did? And actually, wouldn't that be an extremely effective method for prolonging the tension created by the film, thereby leaving a greater impression from it (as there would be no closure at the end).
"I'd been scrubbing my new house for eight hours and was feeling like life wasn't fair"
That's when it's time to watch a comedy. I rented a stand up comedian's DVD for my daughter to watch so she'd stop pining for her absent boyfriend. Worked a treat. Only 14 more days of her moping to go.
I finally watched my Apocalypto d/l last night. (not the plot I thought, but still good)
Also started watching the Hannibal Rising d/l, but fell asleep.
Last thing I saw in theaters was that Halle Berry movie....Perfect Strangers I think) Also saw Knocked Up (too long, not as funny as I thought it would be) and Hostel (pretty good).
