To think that a large bulk of Obama's votes are coming from people who don't know ANYTHING about either guy's policies or even their running mates, is extremely sad and pathetic. These are the idiots trying to pick our next president and now we're f*cked because black people only care about race and not policies.

The only reason Obama is winning is because he's got 99% of the black vote, and atleast 90% of those black people know nothing about politics and only want him in the white house because he's black.

Black people probably ONLY account for about 13% of the U.S. population. If you had half a brain, you would comprehend that EVEN IF all black voters supported Obama, the franchised portion of that 13% is clearly not enough to account for the widely increasing Democratic lead.

Sorry to say this but I believe that with this election there have been a lot of people paying close attention to detail. People are actually watching the debates and watching the reviews. Black people know about politics and to say that 90% don't is a little degrading. I was highly offended by this comment. I have sat on the fence and watched both parties and listened to both men and it's obvious to Blacks, whites, Mexicans, and whoever else that Obama is the best pick. If it were a white man running against McCain I'd pick the white man any day. McCain has degraded his own campaign and everyone can see that. A large number of blacks were initially in support of Hillary because they were more familiar with the Clintons. Common sense tells you that most people go with what they know.


Furthermore, the majority of Americans are clueless about U.S. government, especially poor, uneducated people. Even the so-called well-to-do, some of whom I work and have spoken with, talk "kitchen table politics", but are unable to discuss in-depth. That's one of the reasons the politicians tend to repeat the same generic speeches. They have to keep it simple, or they'll go beyond the capacity of the mainstream.

I read the WSJ, NYT, listen to various talk radio stations who consult experts, and subscribe to the websites of international organizations, etc. There is bias on every side. Like you, I filter according to my beliefs. Unlike you, I don't pretend to be more intelligent and informed than I am. 🙂

When you look out into the audience at any Obama rally, you will see a plethora of colors. The same cannot be said for McCain's rallies.

In terms of Obama's culture and heritage, he was born to, and raised by white Americans. It's interesting that this tends to be overlooked entirely.

It's funny, someone said to me recently, "The same ppl who voted for Bush are voting for Obama!" As if to suggest that Obama's supporters have poor judgement.

congress does not elect obama in. the electoral college elects obama in. the popular vote is supposed to matter, and it generally does. however, the electors are not bound by the constitution as to how they may cast their vote. they will meet in the coming weeks.

an elector can't be a senator or state rep.

Well...I don't know about you, but when they were breaking down those stats last night, people from every possible ethnic group AND age group voted for Obama. Blacks, whites, hispanics, you NAME it. I mean this wasn't even CLOSE, and it would require more than one group to pull that off. I think a BIG gain was the youth vote. I'm still going to college part time, and I'm telling you those kids were riled up like I have NEVER seen them. I'm so glad they finally dragged their asses away from "Motal Combat" long enough to vote. If they'd done it four years ago, we wouldn't be in the situation we are now. And I told them so, too. 😛
