Is it possible for attraction to die out
It's already dead. You don't have the emotional currency as a former crush. Welcome to be friends or stsrt the relationship anew.
This is such a midlife crisis thing to do
I think its less common for attraction to not eventually die out
With all 3 fire signs and all 3 air signs, its very easy for attraction to die out because the masculine signs require stimulation. If you are the type of person that has earth dominant or water dominant chart, you will come off as boring to the masculine chart based person. It is why they are incompatible for a reason.

Not related to the topüc but would you say someone who has scorpio sun aries moon is masculine or feminine? Or virgo sun gemini moon with mostly those 2 signs in the chart? Just curious as how it comes accross 🙂

It really depends if the individual is a male or female. Usually a person with that kind of placement are people in government service like secret service. They have an deep inner need to inflict some sort of hell on someone ofcourse with serviceable activity with an element of a potential need to take action swiftly.
A woman with Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Aries can be very difficult because that impulsive nature of Aries resonates strongly with her because the energy is there. Why? Because woman are emotional. The most prominent placement for woman is ALWAYS the moon. I attract Moon in Aries women because they opposite my Sun in Libra. There's always a strong attraction there. Taurus guy found me on FB, he had professed he had a crush since middle school in our 20s. Stupidly said I felt the same, but didn't. Lost contact through the years and now he's found me again and on a whim I added him. He now has two kids, I think he's seeing someone according to his account and since we weren't friends for a while, saw he had tried to reach out but the messages never went through.
I'm regretting the friendship add and am not looking for drama or anything so I'm hoping the attraction is now dead and we can stay on a platonic level.
Is that possible?

Oh I never had it on my side, which made the whole finding me again all the more worse. But I made it clear to him that I'm not interested and if we stay as friends that it will only be platonic. I'm hoping his fixed energy will be contempt with it

When I asked him what was the reason for adding me as a friend, his first reasoning was "he had always liked me." I'm taking it with a grain of salt and thinking he likes me as friends and only as friends.

It’s likely there was never anything beyond a surface level attraction. Especially from middle school.
It’s more likely he was bored or recently broken up and looking for people to pass the time with.
The next time a man reaches out to you randomly ask him when his last relationship ended. It will tell you a lot about his intentions.
