Smile at strangers....

Why is it that we will be nice or at least civil to complete strangers- people we don't really care about, but then when it comes to the people we love or care for the most all of our inhibitions go out the window and we allow ourselves to say the most horrible things? Luckily we don't go around saying mean things to them all day, but it is like the filter is off. On one hand, I guess that is good, since we are comfortable enough to show all parts of our personality, but on the other it seems that the better parts of you should be reserved for those you love the most.....hmmmmm

Terrible quality of us all, isn't it? Because Kavindra is right, it shouldn't be that way.

So, we should start an on-going, vent thread somewhere on here, where we can all come when life just sucks and scream at the top of our lungs and everybody knows not to take it personally because it's our "Steam Engine" thread to come to so we won't take the aggressions out on our loved ones.

i think it is b/c you take advantage of the people closest to you. you take them for granted and you figure that you can say/ do whatever around them b/c they will still love you no matter what.

Kavindra.......i personally think its coz we take those closest to us for granted and we know that we can hurt them and be mean to them all we want and they will still love us.....But ya ur right we should express our love and be kind to those who are closest to us coz at the end of the day they are the ones who REALLY CARE about us.... BUT i know we never learn and we will make the same mistakes again , again and again....

Its kinda the opposite for me even though sure there will be fights more than with someone you may only ever be around once.I don't care if people think im rude and impatient with them when they're consuming my time,people treat people bad around here and think if they pay you your supposed to put up with it.I'll be courtious when its common sense to do so but beyond that I do the same as they do.

I'm the opposite.

I can be friendly to people I don't know, but I give 110% to anyone I'm close to. I'm much more protective of their feelings than that of a stranger.

Besides, I don't usually smile at strangers. When I do they follow me down the street and that's creepy. lol
