When I saw this, I couldn't help but think about all the dating woes you hear on this site from women- all the stress, emotional warfare, confusion, and generally making life difficult some guys make dating.

Then I see what this woman is saying. One who has lived a century. I couldn't help but find some humor in this, haha.

Nevermind her accent and the fact she's a little spitfire that makes sure she gets her exercise. Bad ass!

Emphasis on "good." ...a lot of emphasis.

Fantastic she came out with this... SOOO many women would rather stay in relationships that are draining, trying to hold them together (along with their self-esteem) thinking it will somehow bring them happiness... happiness CAN be found in oneself not dependent on someone else.

Exactly.

It just made me lol because she's not a man hater by any means, she just saw all the drama and bs, and basically said "fuck this. I'm gonna focus on my happiness." Given the era she grew up in, that's saying a lot about her, really.

Our society too often implies that to complete your "true" happiness is to get married and have kids. Not focus on a career, bettering yourself, etc. It's "when are you going to get married? when are you going to have kids?"

Props to her.
