Bible question

Within christianity .. does it say that we humans are the only (beings) in the universe? What I want to know is IF there were aliens, how would this set religiously speaking? If, by chance, it was proven that there was life on other planets, what kind of impact would that have in the christian belief system?

better yet what if we make contact and they are all hundards of years old and they don't have gods. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Throwing all religion off to the side for just a moment; i've often wondered if we are an inferior alien race cast-off from some distant planet or ultra-verse. The aliens didn't quite get it right with us. Hense world wars, killings, bombings, violences, etc etc. of our known Earth. Maybe that could somehow explain the many alien sightings, abductions, and experiments throughout recent recorded history. Also makes you wonder why they are still keeping a close eye on us..(medically documented tracking 'implants') *it's kind of like a parent keeping an eye on a child; have they *grown up* yet, evolved..?? ...so many more questions, then answers..

It would certainly put all religious sects and the Christain bible into a muddy, murky tailspin, that's for sure..!

That's exactly what I have thought, too, mystic. These aliens aren't aggressive. If they have the capability to space travel at their liesure, then they are far more superiour than us .. they don't harm us though, they watch over us .. they could annihilate us to complete devastation.

Sometimes, I wonder .. what if they planted the whole "God" concept in us, because our minds have retarded, we are actually like Darwin proposed as being in a degenerative condition, that's why there are wars, demented fornifictions, utter chaos in our minds, on our soils, in our hearts .. so, these superiour beings who were assigned to watch over us, planted within us a belief system who's intentions were to bring us to a place of love, so we wouldn't deteriorate faster.

I don't know .. just some thoughts .. which led me to think about the original question. What IF we had evidence of "other" beings .. what would that do to us down here? A tailspin would probably be right .. we'd probably all go mad.

That's how my husband believes also. I figured it would destroy all faith people had and turn to utter chaos .. but, he believes that they will find a way, such as, leaders would then say that only (we) were created in his image, so we're the chosen ones, while the aliens weren't in his favor .. this way, like you said .. it would still give hope to people and let them believe that they were special.

It would depend on the actual reason WHY we were led to believe this in the first place. If the intentions were to keep us having love in our hearts, then I don't see where that was a mistake.

If life is discovered on any other planet I would simply attribute that life to God's creation. He created the "heavens" and the earth. So whatever else is out there is HIS.

Hey Mystic! I think big bro's version is going to be worse. You know those chips that they now put in pets with all of their info? They'll be doing that to us. Instead of swiping a credit card or atm card, they'll scan your wrist(or forehead). I think they are using it also for medical alerts like diabetes, drug allergies, stuff like that. Instead of stealing your wallet people will cut off your hand for identity theft. (Not funny I know).

i can sure see that, Jwalker; pretty scary stuff, indeed! i found this article on (RFID) Radio frequency identification ... where's the limit, and more importantly, where do human rights begin?? Employers may even want to implant chips inside their workers, or you'll be out of the loop, etc. etc. Who knows, likely just the tip of the iceberg. Compared to 50, 100 or 1000 years from now, we're still kind of living in the stone-age. i guess we should all enjoy the freedoms we still have, while we have them! 😉

What I don't understand is why someone of an Eastern religion can come and demand to have that religion recognized, at the same time we are being told we must take down crosses, or copies of the ten commandments. Why there are people fighting to take "In God We Trust" off of our money and put foot washes in restrooms for other religions. It pretty much explains that there will one day be an attempt for a one world order, which is against God's will. Most will fall into the Devils trap and participate in this. But some will not. And it also says that not participating in this, will prevent you from buying or selling, so for most people it will hard not to follow this one world order.

I don't know, OSG .. from my perspective, to believe in something 100% , without question seems to go against the very reason we have brains and the power of reasoning.

Furthermore, since I know that the bible was written 200 years after the fact .. it wouldn't seem prudent to follow blindly, for by the time 200 years have passed .. this information has been become legend and wasn't experienced by these men with first-hand knowledge, nor personal experience. Secondly .. people could only relate in terms which they understood at the time. For example: A ruler was called a God, the master of a household was called a God. Chariots of Fire could be a comet and these people thought it was a God, because they didn't know any better. And if the earth shook in a quake, or a volcanoe blew her top .. these people took it to mean, the Gods were angry. The crumbling of whatever that city was, Gomorah (?), could have very easily been an earthquake, and people back then had no clue to the earths process of reburbishing herself and adjusting with her tetonic plates ... so, it isn't concievable to me that these terms, phrases be taken literally .. as gospel. We already know that Noah's flood wasn't worldwide, as was previously thought.

So, in knowing this .. it wouldn't seem feasible to negate our intellect, and blindly say everything in the bible is accurate, for people could only relate with words in which they knew the meaning at a time when we didn't have the knowledge we have now.

At any rate .. so long as this brings you to a place of peace and love, then it has to be right for you 🙂
