Ramazan is the holy month of fasting for Muslims, which just begun earlier this week. For 30 days, every sane adult believer must fast from food, drink and sex from pre-dawn until sunset. Its purpose is spiritual training, discipline and to increase one's conscious awareness of God.
It is also a very festive time, where good food, random charity and warm hearts are the norm.
