Resizing pics to fit

Could someone...ANYONE, kindly give me some direction as to how I can reduce the "byte-size" of pics so that Im able to upload them as profile pics on Dxp?

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\2ndcrop For example OR..

Picasa photoviewer...etc.

Did someone already tell you? If not...I think you can save the picture then open it with a picture editing/viewing program and there should be a way to resize the image from there (reduce it by a certain percentage or something).
