On the difference between Taurean and Scorpionic love (the Taurus/Scorp opposing axis)

"The catalyst
Catalysts fall almost wholly into the Pluto/Scorpio variety. There are many possible configurations of this signature - Moon/Pluto, lots of planets in the eighth house, Pluto rising, Sun in Scorpio, Sun/Pluto, Venus/Pluto and so on. Pluto is the unseen one, but the caretaker of souls. The catalysts are the ones in the family who walk into a room and everyone changes. People fall in love, get divorced, give birth, die, find new vocations -all due to the ministering and presence of this person. The true nature of the catalyst acts as the transformer of others, but they themselves do not change. The intensity of their being is enough to bring out hidden aspects of others, allowing others to show parts of themselves they may not even have known existed. It is always the catalyst that that people turn to when they are in pain, in crisis or other transitional state. They are the guides. However, to be truly and healthily in this role, there has to be a degree of distance between themselves and the situation in which they have inadvertently found themselves implicated. They have to be particularly careful of giving advice or strong opinions over sensitive issues, because it will backfire on them if they have allowed thenselves to be caught up in the riot.
Ultimately the catalyst should walk in and out of situations unscathed. It takes time and age for this to become a safe role. They can easily become a scapegoat, especially if they have used their power in ways which have their own personal ends or needs in mind. Since it is a Plutonian experience, it has all tbe esrmarks of a life-and-death level of experience; this is not always a comfortable role but can be a very satisfying one, especially when the transformations have resulted in a stronger family system and a more honest one. They are never mediators because their stance is firm, unilateral and clear - others must change, there is rarely compromise to be gained.

Happily, not all catalystd wear the dark cloak of Hades; some of them are transformers because they are so scrupulously honest and have the ability to allow others around them to be the same. Their energy can be so provocative and herotic that they create a sensation of love around them, giving others the freedom to express themselves in poetic and romantic ways. If love is a problem, or trust, or freedom, the catalyst will always do something that creates a stir that everyone has to pay attention to the core issue. Catalysts cannot stand suspense, they like everything out in the open. Living on a threshold is not their idea of a good life, they are very black-and-white. On some level, this is wearing. However, there are advantages to being so clear - if others are muddling their way through some issue or problem, the catalyst will come in and clarify the situation immediately with rather abrupt mannerisms and words.
Because they loathe pretext and subterfuge, they will attack anyone who is undermining the integrity of the family/ or the tribe and demand openeness. When a family becomes in need of deep psychological or spiritual change, a catalyst will be brought in either by marriage or through the birth of a child who has the qualities that radically alter the perceptions of every single member of the family. Catalysts can be blavk sheep, for instance, the renegades who mock the hypocrisy of the status quo, thus allowing others to become more experimental. They are iconoclasts and have no reverence for pro forma rules and regulations - this does not mean they are criminal, but it does mean that rules have to be based on an ethical foundation."

Exoskeleton's thread about firsts made me remember this old post I once read. Describes the situation beautifully 🙂

ScorpioScorpio is the gateway, the gatekeeper, and the moderator in its' trinity with Cancer and Pisces. Scorpio says we can do this the easy way or we can do this hard way but eventually we are going to do this. While it may seem that Scorpio prefers the hard way, this is only so because because our sense of security is so freshly rooted in the bottom of the chart-Cancer. Scorpio itself has patience, knowing that everything must pass through it's domain.
In Cancer we seem to manifest spontaneously, having forgotten our deeper roots in Pisces. As this is the home of ego and the beginning of recognition of ourselves in relation to the material world, we go about our business condensing experiences into a container that appears limitless from our freshly minted perspective. A perspective which informs us that we can remain in this cuddly place, suckling moms tit indefinitely. Eventually, the moment comes when one must leave the sacred tit and venture out into the world. ??Because we have become so identified with this condensed material form, the preconscious Piscean dreams we may have had ( or indeed they may have been nightmares) as suckling babies recede into mist reinforcing the construct that I am just this material body flung into a material world. ??This reminds me of the dubious exclamation which probably took hold ??during the industrial revolution " so and so is a person of substance"!
And here is the rub. If we are fully and completely filled with this illusion, when we come to Scorpio ( and all of us must) we are hammered not by Scorpio, but by our own attachment to this particular piece of meat we have temporarily inherited. Scorpio doesn't care. It just says "next"? The cool and aloof persona we project onto Scorpio is because we haven't yet learned how Scorpio likes to play.??Scorpio beckons as a lover. It entices. It whispers erotic poetry hoping to attract a mate who can shed the security blanket of ego and dance freely with their soul. ??The stakes are not trivial, for this is serious fun.
