They pick one day out of the year to celebrate love. I think there's something wrong with that..... It sounds more like "Happy BS Day".

Maybe, I'm wrong.

I right there with you MrFirebird.
If it were possible...I wish the decorations, hearts and chocolates could stay up stay all year round..
the chubby fat kid with the wings, bow & arrow can go.

I used to rack up on those Red foil heart stickers along with special stationary, for my handwritten love note/letters.

Sigh...handwitten letters.
A lost art.

One thing is for sure, a lot of people go out of their way to spend money on flowers, candies, cards and related etc.
The merchants make a few extra bucks this time of year. Whatever happened to DIY? Make something for someone. That's REALLY giving of yourself. Which I think is what EVERY day is supposed to be about. Not about how much money you can spend or what lavish gifts etc you can bestow upon your other half.

On the flipside of the coin, there IS this business of Valentine's Day being a heartbreak for a lot of people.
Some may have just broken up or they have been apart for months, or even years and such a day like VD brings out
that pain for those people.
Strange, isn't it— Today, you may be the happiest man or woman on earth but a year from now, you may be
contemplating suicide. Today, you cannot even imagine such a thought, but then... you may not be able to remember how "happy" you are today. You never know... you may spend the rest of your life enduring the monotonous sound of your x's joy-without-you.
But today, you might be a happy camper.
On the other hand, the opposite may be true and you may be miserable today but a year from now, that may all change.
You can only hope for the best and brace for the worst.
Or..
Perhaps you don't really take such things seriously and are indifferent, carefree. That's fine, but there IS a certain
responsibility that you should take seriously and that is the feelings of others.
IF you don't, you might end up a statistic.
All those variations of fortune and misfortunes, perceived or not. Strange world. Very strange.

I shared this with the Virgo forum a week or so ago..this is my thoughts on VDay..the thought process is eerily familiar 😉

"Valentines Day"

The day when all (on demand) must confess how one feels about the other, with an obligatory gesture of romance, sex performance, materialism, while professing to their significant other their undying love when 364 other days that have passed don't count. Counterproductive imo.

I'll go with the spontaneous and more natural 364 days.
