He is your friend. Why is that you are translating that he likes you. There was a Scorpio engr. in my previous job - he made coffee for me. bought bread for me. I treated him as my brother.

I meant there's nothing to work with that information.. Buying vip tickets? Was that all or was there anything else where he went beyond his way to be there for you?Buying tickets where he manages is a nice thing..But that's not like going beyond his way or showing a different kind of interest..umm..maybe they're reading too much into this whole thing?
