hypocondria

i guess it's cos i live in spain that i find myself googling the odd sypmtom from time to time. that's my disclaimer anyway.

i've had this weird rash appear on my belly.

so i'm checking out shingles, lol...reading down through the symptoms and ticking them off one by one...burning sensation?...*thinks*....yep definitely feel burning....nausea?....little bit.....headache?.....well, now you come to mention it....

then at the bottom it states very clearly that a shingles rash only EVER appears on one side of the body...left or right.

my 'symptoms' instantly disappeared, lol.

anyhow....i think it's a harmless viral thing. hope to god it doesn't spread to my face.

anyone else with a tendancy to try and google-diagnose?

it's adult chickenpox which you can only get if you've had chickenpox apparently. my daughter's not had that yet and so if she gets it, i'll know i guess but i guess i'll get it checked out. thing is that obviously the doctor's speak spanish and so i usually have to get on to google when i get home anyway.

i've ruled out all life threatening ailments, lol. i'm gonna pull through this somehow....

but i don't know if it's really burning or just burning cos i read it burned, lol.

Yes! I used to watch a lot medical diagnosis shows on tv about various illnesses and i would instantly feel whatever symptoms they were talking about. Bcause of that i was once so sure that i was developing elephantitis of the leg..the doctor mentioned that it started with a tingling of the leg, then a crawling sensation inside the leg and one leg gets slightly bigger inch by inch. For wks i 'had' those symptoms and drove myself crazy every day measuring my right leg. Its rumoured to be caused by mosquitos carrying some type of gem, so mosquitos were my obsession for a while. I have since stopped watching those kind of shows.

Years ago i watched a documentary about bats in some south american country. They crawled in while people were sleeping and nibble @ them while infecting them with a deadly {if not treated} infection. The bats left only tiny red marks. Next AM i woke up with the same marks, lol. Drove myself crazy again and made sure that every little open space was closed at bedtime.
