In answer to your original post, all this mystery and illusions malarky are the perceptions of the person dating the scorpio..I don't think a Scorpios go out there to create mystery. For the most part, we are extremely straight forward individuals. I really don't know where all this mystery comes from? Do we give off those vibes? I certainly don't...Secrets yes we hold those...if you unveil those then I guess we feel slightly naked...and thats not because we feel vulnerable, its purely because we are private people..if you unveil the secrets you've invaded our privacy. Well thats the way I see it..I guess its because we are soooooo out there yet very private..Contradicting..
