I'm having a crush on my Scorpio guy friend

Hello everyone, I'm a 20 year old female Cancerian and is currently a 4th year college student. My crush is a college friend and classmate since first year (we are in a block section so we have the same classmates for the rest of our college lives, except for a few that either got debarred or had failed so many subjects). However, we haven't really been close for the first three years as classmates. It just all started when we became groupmates for a certain big project for 2 semesters (1 sem = 5 months) and we've basically been closer ever since. We also currently belong to the same circle of friends, hang out together, had dinner with just me and him (he invited me), shared our family and life problems, ambitions, opinions, likes and dislikes, hobbies and interests, and other funny and spooky stuff like how he feels their old house was haunted.

It's been a long while before I noticed that I'm actually falling for him. Now I've been thinking, how would I know if a scorpio thinks of me as a girlfriend material or just a trusted friend and nothing more? I know he's comfortable being with me since it's what my intuition tells me, and that it's because he tells and shows me what he really feels during certain situations despite showing a cool exterior (er... poker face?) to the others. A Scorpio won't definitely reveal that and other deep aspects of his life to someone he's not comfortable with.

I've tried reading maaaaany articles about "how to know if a scorpio man likes me" and many are just like copy paste of the same idea over and over again which are not applicable to me and my culture. For starters, we (We as in, majority of the college students here) don't go clubbing, we don't smoke, use drugs, drink, hookup, flirt randomly, do one night stands, kiss after a random date with strangers, invite people to drink and party in our houses etc. heck, I only know two classmates who are not virgin anymore and the majority are single since birth. Most of the guides assume that we ALL do all the stuff I've listed, so they lose credibility to me right away.

Disregarding that though, given the current scenario, do you think there's a chance? Also, what are the signs I should be looking for?
