I'm quite chatty online in writing but in person I don't talk much unless someone gets me going on something or is goofin off with me.
Between talking on the phone and texting, I prefer texting because it's quieter/more private and I don't have to respond right away.

Being an Aries moon, I can be rash forward and agressive when I'm not thinking or if my guard is down BUT once I start thinking before acting, I am more careful and seemingly pull back and take my time.
There isn't a certain, it just depends on how comfortable he is with tht person OR he just will always prefer texting regardless.
Maybe you should talk to him about this if it's bothering you.
